I couldn't find a thread on this, so I thought I would start one. I'm going to really try to not hate this movie and give it a shot. I know it has been in the works for a long time. David Zucker had said that they wanted to go back to an original spoof, without too many topical references. I hope that is what this ends up being. It seems that they are mainly spoofing Spider-man, kinda like Airplane! was a direct spoof of Zero Hour!. I would feel more comfortable with the movie if it was just the Zuckers and Abrams doing this movie, but I guess they have to pass the torch sometime. I don't like that they tacked on "movie" to the end of the title, I guess they are trying to attact the Date Movie, Epic Movie, etc... crowd. I chuckled at a few things in the preview, but it will probably suck. I has/had the chance to be a good movie. Here is the preview. http://www.apple.com/trailers/weinstein/superheromovie/
Pass, I feel like have just seem the only mildly interesting parts. And I didn't not so much as chuckle.
Not sure about this one. The trailer is very funny, but then so was the trailer for Epic Movie and that one kinda sucked.
No, I'd say that looks pretty great. The world needs more Leslie Nielsen. I like this because it's an actual parody movie. You know, that focuses on a single movie. As opposed to "Let's reference every movie that's come out in the past year and also squeeze in every pop culture reference we possibly can." Scary Movie 3 is a rare exception to that. But even then, it was really just a Signs/Ring parody, the other references were few. And it was directed by a GREAT comedy director. I want more movies like Naked Gun where it is ridiculous yet the characters remain serious. Which is what this looks like.
That was funny. Sadly, that will probably be the only funny parts in the movie, but the trailer was still funny.
Yeah, this actually looks like it might be pretty good, as opposed to the more recent utter crapfest parody movies we've had recently. I mean, the trailer didn't even make me want to blow my brains out! Plus, Leslie Nielson.
It is being made by people that don't know how to make movies (let alone how to properly spoof something). And Drake Bell is major FTL (he is such a douche). The trailer had a moment or two, but I really doubt it will be anything watchable. But hey, it DOES look better than Meet the Spartans....though a pile of festering pig shit looks better than Meet the Spartans.
I thought it looked ok. Nothing spectacular, but still funny. Of course Leslie Nielson is pretty good in just about anything.
