I see what you did there.
While playing Classic mode, I tried my best to unlock everyone without fail. Obviously that didn't happen. When I got a second chance to battle the approaching challengers, I used Bowser because he is a heavyweight and a heavy hitter until I lost to Ryu twice. I continued on and battled Ganondorf, that sword of his is a beast, I won and played classic with him. He became my "go to" to unlock everyone.
Is Isabelle really that good of a character? It took me 3 tries to beat her with Ganondorf.
When played by a good player she can be deadly online.
Love the game so far. (Got it for Christmas)
i got nintendo switch online. won my first battle against 2 other players.
i would have faired better if i didn't accidentally k.o. myself at start.
dude! it works in reverse!
I have unlocked every character now, except Piranha Plant.
I see that Master and Crazy Hand remain as utterly uncompelling as boss battles as at any point in the series history.
They do a bit more this time around, both in terms of the boss fight (typically you always have to fight both of them, single fights against either of them are rare) and...other ways.
Spoiler: Massive spoiler for World of Light
If you beat Crazy Hand and Master Hand twice each in the third world, they break from the control the orb gods put on them and they break open a third path which leads to the 'true' ending. Which you have to earn by defeating all the characters in the game twice.
Except this time, you get to play as Master Hand. Suffering through all of World of Light was absolutely worth that brief moment of true omnipotence that being weaponized bitchslapping can only bring.
world of light is kicking my ass. this feels like it's a lot of effort for nothing, since i doubt i'll ever use spirits again and i unlocked everyone through classics. still, the weird conditions during the fights and the clever workarounds to homage whatever spirit you're fighting are actually really fun.
I do agree, the way the fights are structured to be like the character represented in the spirit is neat...but the whole 'RPG' element of having to juggle primary and support spirit combinations is absolutely idiotic. It's even worse outside of World of Light, since WoL lets you have as many attempts as you want. In Spirits mode proper? You get ONE SHOT to win the fight before it disappears and shows up again at some random point in the future...and then even when you DO win, you have to play some stupid nonsensical timing mini-game where your fighter shoots the other fighter to release the spirit (you don't need to do this in WoL). If you miss, you can use spirit money or whatever to buy another shot...if you miss again then the spirit just goes away. Allegedly the game 'remembers' how much of the shield you removed but I haven't encountered a spirit that I defeated but failed to break the shield on twice.
I'll just go ahead and tell you how to get the best spirit in the game so you don't have to worry too much about that stuff (supports like poision invuln of course should always be used if necessary). In World of Darkness, defeat Dracula and you get his spirit. Level it to 99 and 'evolve' it into Soma Cruz, then level HIM up to 99. At 14k+ spirit power he's the highest power primary in the game from what I can tell AND he's neutral so Rock-Paper-Scissors doesn't come into play for him either.
Then when you get to Giga Little Mac, go into the difficulty slider and set the game to Easy. You will not defeat Giga Little Mac on normal unless you are god tier good to the point the spirits mechanic itself isn't hindering you at all. That fight is total fucking bullshit even on Easy.
Something weird happened just a few minutes ago. I was playing a Team Battle as Mario and Yoshi going up against Wario and Donkey Kong, and towards the end, when Donkey lost his last life, the announcer said, "Restart!" and Donkey came back. After I killed him again, it happened a second time, which ultimately (no pun intended) ended up costing me the match. This hasn't happened with any other character I've fought so far, and he wasn't able to "restart" in any of the previous matches I've had with him. Can anyone explain this? Is it some kind of hidden mechanic? An ability exclusive to him that can only be activated under certain conditions (which is incredibly unfair)? Does it have something to do with the stage, which was the Mushroom Kingdom? Is it possible for me to do that? I've tried searching Google and YouTube for answers, but couldn't find any. If anyone here can explain what happened, I would very much appreciate it.
What were Wario's stocks at? Maybe they were sharing stocks?
I love this game & everything but does anyone wish they'd have brought back Yoshi's back dropkick from smash 64? I hated it changed to a tail swipe in melee. Always hoping for it to come back.
Score Exclusive Spirits In The New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Event
I don't remember, and I didn't save a video of the fight, so I can't check. Can you actually share stocks, or was that just a guess? If it is possible to do that, can you tell me how?
You can press A+B to take a teammate's stock when you run out. The announcer says something like "Share Stock" when it happens too, which I think is what you were hearing.
i never knew this was a thing. wow!
....oh, boi.... i always hate timed events like this.
