ahhh. so technically Sega has three reps now. neat. thank you.
Hmmm... I wonder. Isn't SNK also owned by Sega now?
SNK is owned by 37 Games and Orient Securities Co., Ltd, both of which are based in China.
Every Electronic store I went to today, there were at least 2 or 3 people in each store asking if they have Wolf Amiibo.
So, I'm getting a Switch and Ultimate for Christmas, so all I can do right now is either watch people play, or listen to the new remixes. I'm tending toward the latter. What new remixes have gotten their hooks in you? Gangplank Galleon is amazing and rightfully the most talked about, and of course Bloody Tears always deserves a mention, but holy crap the new remix of Aquarius is transcendent.
Mail came in today.
Cartridge is loaded.
TIME TO SMASH.
Inkling might be one of the most fun characters I've played between all Smash games.
Ridley is everything I wanted and more. Feels like playing a xenomorph except also he breathes fire and that's wonderful. Getting off that clutch tail stab is a thing of beauty.
Undertale is stupidly popular in Japan so I don't see how that discounts Sans?
However, I'd prefer Papyrus or Undyne over Sans any day given they'd pull off being a fighter better given they, y'know, fight and are not
a massive spoiler
okay, I have to ask. if anyone beat the Pauline (as Peach) or dr.wily (as Dr.Mario) spirit fights in story, can you tell me how you did it?! Pauline's evasiveness is bullcrap, and beating 8 metal megamen before wily isn't going well either. help?!
really? that's pretty cool.
undyne would be our first spear weilder, too.
Looking at downloading Piranha Plant. It says for retail purchase, register the Game card with my Nintendo. What Game Card?
played on a friend's copy a bunch yesterday. k rool and incineroar are totally gonna be my mains. k rool's counter and side b are insanely fun, and incineroar's run is a little slow but his moves more than make up for it.
i'm absolute garbage with ridley, though. not sure what i'm doing wrong lol
So, after getting some time in with both Gamecube and Switch controls, I absolutely love this game - really the only problems I've been having for the most part are the button placement differences of X and Y - it's so annoying because I'm more used to Gamecube configuration and it's been a steep climb trying to relearn controls simply to jump when X/Y are on the wrong side. I haven't checked to see if remaping is possible namely because everything else is fine, it's just trying to jump and hitting A instead of X or Y when using the Switch controls and recovery is very difficult.
However, I really don't like this whole 'Spirits' mechanic. It takes the game from being a brawler to basically being a numbers game that radically ramps up difficulty if you don't match the numbers. I'm on normal difficulty and I can't for the life of me even get CLOSE to challenging 9000+ enemies because of whatever the programming dictates the numbers actually do. For the Stangelove fight, I initially went in with a type disadvantage and a lower spirit power number and got my ass handed to me...but then I dropped in my level 78 Thanatos which boosted my power by over 4000 and the fight was a trivial cakewalk even though I didn't change tactics at all.
And some of the fights are just bullshit. Sigma/Ganondorf? I don't recall any Megaman X games where Sigma primarily used a laser sword and could attack you from a third of the stage away (I mean, yeah, I think he had a sword for phase 1 in X3, but of all Sigma forms, why that one?). Using an 8800-ish power build (Some two-star primary spirit maxed and filling both support slots with the Guardian for the melee weapon defense buff) and Fox, I've gotten that asshole down to 5hp twice (spamming Fox's laser pistol and the fire/psuedo-teleportation dash attacks to keep up DPS while also keeping my distance when possible) but then he'll simply kill me because he hits like a truck and it's a stamina battle. And I don't know how I'm supposed to match that 9000 level when I can't even manage to get any three star primary spirits.
I don't know if new challengers appear only one and they never show again after you lose. But I lost 4 New Challengers in a row.
Edit: Never Mind, I found out how you can challenge them to a rematch.
If you bought a physical copy. On the Switch home screen hit plus on the games icon. Go to My Nintendo Rewards Program, then hit earn points. Piranha plant won’t be available until like March.
One.. If you're having problems, let it Automatically do your spirits. It'll choose the best ones against the opponent.
Two.. If you're having problems, go find some other spirits to take out, they'll likely be helpfully.
Three.. There is the spirits board to get more spirits.
Four.. Use the store.. They sell spirits.
E.. No.. That pretty much sounds like Sigma.
Since Sakurai has final say, I'm cool with that. I'd rather take Sakurai's choices over Nintendo's choices. If Nintendo made the choice, I wouldn't even bother touching the Fighter Pass.
Sakurai: Here is Goku like you guys wanted.
Fans: THAT IS NOT GOKU!!! WE WANT DBZ GOKU!!!
Sakurai: Who is DBZ Goku?
Fans then proceed to riot in the streets
Super Smash came a long way from what it is today.
64: Oh ho ho, Mario just tripped Yoshi and now everyone's having a jolly old brawl!
Ultimate: There came a day when light razed the land and tore the souls from all life. In a world forged by a demon in holy clothing, only one can ignite war against the gods themselves.
