The RED sculpts look absolutely terrible compared to S7 though.

Actionmasters had plenty of top-tier characters.

Are we talking the Actionmaster versions of top tier characters or did Actionmasters have a separate list of top tier characters. Actionmasters is also rather niche, so I doubt original Actionmaster characters will show up in RED. I have my doubts of RED getting passed the Seekers for 'Cons or Grimlock for the Autobots in terms of G1. Maybe we can get some carbots. I skipped RED Bumblebee as I didn't want him to be pretty much as large as everyone else. So, I'm hoping we can get a nice 4-5" 'Bee from Super7.

Super 7 is doing both, so both would be applicable. Nothing wrong with getting Actionmaster Thundercracker in RED.

The helmet is a separate piece. It's "off" because it's literally half-way off. And the face is merely how Andrew Wildman rendered it in the Marvel comics.

Showing too much forehead is what the kids these days call a 'power move'.

Iunno, given that they definitely seem to have modified the sculpt of Bludgeon's lower biceps/upper forearms/elbows to increase elbow range compared to the render, I think there may well have been more care taken to improve articulation to at least a minor degree in this wave, based on fan feedback from Wave 1. Maybe that's why they spent so long in Tooling Review.

EDIT: Just went back to the renders to compare the elbows more closely, and I just noticed they did also modify the sculpt of the upper torso where the shoulder pauldrons would intersect with the torso, seemingly increasing those pieces' range too:

super7 ultimates bludgeon comparison final figure.PNG
Not only is there more cutout for the elbows to seemingly get at least a 90 degree bend, but now it looks like there's cutout on the shoulderblades to allow the shoulder pauldrons to go up more.

So Bludgeon at the very least has definitely had multiple changes made with articulation fully in mind.

I have Mumm-Ra as is bigger than the standard Thundercats and if you saw the pictures of Monstarr compared with the Silverhawks figures, he is huge ✌️[IMG] [IMG]

I am glad to see this, I had not noticed the changes myself and as gorgeous as my ghost Starscream looks and feels, I was definitely surprised to find he was not very articulated. Could not help but feel disappointed, and I got him for half-price so the idea of paying likely double for the others was turning me off the line when I thought I was in for all of wave one and half of two. But maybe Bludgeon at least I can still go for, as he is probably the one Pretender more than any other that I want the original shell design 100% (okay no him and Longtooth definitely).

I definitely think the aesthetic of the pretenders could really shine in this line for sure. Hope to see more too generally, even if I just said I only had one or two must haves. Though I do like the Hasbro ones so maybe if we see designs or at least interpretations of them that are more significant. Like we aint seeing any people-former shells still looking like people, and on the other hand even before taking the significant price difference into account I do not think Skullgrin would be that much better from Super7.

Actually I just remembered the classic pretenders and must add Grimlock and Starscream to my wants.

I really like the look of some of these figures, namely Bludgeon and Banzai-Tron, but I just can’t get behind the cost which I find exorbitant nor the execution judging from Wave 1.

I’m getting Bludgeon, and I want a Octopunch and Stranglehold, and maybe the classic pretenders, and maybe the Masterforce pretenders as well….

At Super 7 prices it really does make me wish PWTT had succeeded all over again!

Why do you think he's only 6"? Prime is a full 8"--they won't make Megatron any shorter.

On the cost discussion, keep in mind that these do tend to get discounted down to around $30 six or so months after release. I remember seeing Banzaitron for cheap a while back.

I think Megatron is 8" and the G2 version is 7". Check the solicitation from BBTS below. Ultimates are usually 7" unless its a small character and Super7 feels like they want to rip us off.

But if he’s 8”, doesn’t that punch a hole in your thesis?
