I like your work man, I don't think I would've added sand in the treads of Whiplash though as usually the sand doesn't collect so much in there - it's mainly dust or very fine sand which isn't really apparent to an observant eye.

Other than that, this is an awesome paint app job...AGAIN!!

    Thanks, man!

I will when everything is complete. :)

    Um....buy it...dig it...glue it... :-D

    I hope so!!

Well, to your point, I tried looking for a powder that would clump and such like these professional modelers use for their tanks. I could not find anything in the right color and I was not going to spend MORE money into the varnishes and other things to make it. The sand is "doubling" as mud caked on. Like, each granule of sand for the scale would equal a full pound of sand in the real world. I have been on the fence about the sand in the treads themselves, solely based on the stark contrast of colors. I love in the mechanisms within the wheels and gears area, but the threads are so-so. I may change my mind based on this.... the other two bulldozers in my team will have rubber tracks. This will be tough to have the sand adhere to. SO, to stay consistent, I may take it off. Thanks for the advice and thoughts. It helps. And thanks for your continued support in my project.

This is incredible, man. Really, freakin' epic. :bay

Just wondering: is this just for you? Or are you gonna ebay it? If you do, man, DON'T SETTLE! Put a LARGE reserve on it. If it doesn't sell, keep it! LOL

    But really, man, AWESOME.

Oh so you just put glue down and then stick powdery sand and grit onto it and then paint it? Wow...i thought it was mroe complicated then that lol.

Youre not gonna sell this when its done are you? It would be better to keep such a unique one-off i think.

Well.... I'm torn, obviously. Frenzy_Rumble got 4K for his painted version. Other customs, deluxe size, on here from various customizers sell for hundreds.

I would be stupid not to at least test the waters, right? If my wife had her way, it would be sold.

However, I am really really REALLY growing attached to it. I am a movie completist, and to not have this in my collection would be awful. So much hard work and effort into it only to see it go away.

Plus, there is the ethical side of me too. I know where its deficiencies are. I know where to be "careful" transforming it. I know where it is not perfect, and for lack of a better term, "hillbilly-rigged". I know I would have to go over every knook and cranny with the buyer before lettging it go. And I know I am not as polished or professional in my customizing to use the lastest and greatest, and best techniques. I am going to have paint wear. I have come to terms with it. I would feel awful if a buyer would spend hundreds or possibly even thousands on a figure that is not up to the high end standards that many of the talented people on here would produce.

So.... I guess we'll see is my "official" stance on the matter... :)

And thank you so much for your compliments. It means a lot.

You could always make a second version! :lol  But seriously, I understand your dilemma. This really is an amazing one of a kind project that you are pouring your heart and soul into, with the results already being amazing. But at the same time, there's that $$$ siren call...Maybe keep it for a little while, and only sell it when space becomes a problem, or you grow tired of it?

Whiplash's Devastator "Leg Mode" is finished. I have been working on face painting stuff for my church, as well as some logo stuff and brochures. Long Haul or Skipjack is next on the list, I think. Just have to get the airbrush out again. I was planning to take a few vacation days from work here soon to focus on this project. Wife is getting sick of it being spread out over our dining room table...and frankly, so am I . I'm hoping to bang out a couple of them during those days.

Thanks for the bump. I'm glad people are still interested. Keeps me motivated, too.
