So the Quintesson Jounal did an absolutely amazing Sunbow Metroplex:

The Quintesson Syndicate (@the_quintesson_syndicate) • Instagram photos and videos

I've known him.a long time and we were talking about scale in comparison to the Fortress Maximus:

Heavy/Scratch: - Masterpiece Fortress Maximus (Printformers design)

    And Scorponok:

Heavy/Scratch: - Masterpiece Scorponok (Printformers design)

That I'd already completed. Now it's game on and I'm going to attempt something crazy with his design. Here's the first comparison pic between his 25.5" figure 'ears' and mine fresh off the print bed, mp44 as comparison.

Join me on this rollercoaster. Not sure how long it'll take with playing with tolerences but it'll be fun!

Sitting on a 47" Fort Max body and with FT Mirage along for the ride for perspective you can start to see the mammoth task ahead!

Meat hooks printing next then I'll start from the ground up.

I can only imagine how much cash has been invested into making all these things. Wow.

Breathtaking work is all I can say. I can't seem to reattach my jaw. It fell onto the floor.

If I’ve not said it before I will say now, such a lovely legends collection you have;)  plenty of room to fit Plexy. :D

I’ve not checked but is Plexy going to be a 15-20% increase on the size of Fort Max/Scorpy you printed up? I’m just looking at the difference in head sizes. So your printed up Metroplex will be circa 6 feet tall??

I’m sure this will be fantastic when finished. Definitely get Rob to stand next to it like you did with Scorpy. Haha.

    EDIT
Just to put into context how big this Metroplex is going to be, Tigerblade posted these photos of his printed up Scorpy next to a person and Dx9 Gabriel.

That Omega Supreme is MP scale, not the Pangu or NewAge versions for legends scale.

To think that Scorpy is 5’6 to the top of the tail/stinger and Metroplex will be getting closer to 6 feet tall is freaking insane.

Rob holding his gun always makes my laugh. It really is insane.

Size wise that's about right. I'm aiming for the low 70" mark. DX9 Gabriel is gonna look hilariously small.

I was 22hrs into the first part of his forearm and it failed. So back to the drawing board. Starting a toymak3r style Bruticus aswell so think I'll do Swindle for a break and then come back to this. Need to get some successful smaller prints done to not burn me out!

Sorry to hear that. Lengthy print times and then failing would make the most laid back of us get hacked off.

Perhaps when you get Metroplex completed you can take a leaf out of @G.I.EDDIE book and replicate the photos he took of his 48 inch Devy on the toilet:

    Heavy/Scratch: - 48" Devastator ("Bruderstator") 1:16th scale

Still blown away by Eddie’s work and I think it is great that you have shared your fantastic efforts with the community as well.

Tbf his sofa pic was already in my mind to copy, holding MP44 in one hand, MP36 in the other whilst watching the '86 movie :D

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Kobra 2 Max so will be running 2 printers for a while. That'll speed things up a touch too.

I was going to post the sofa pic but thought the one on the toilet was more amusing. Perhaps have your metroplex lying in bed or in an empty bath… Watching TfTM and playing with MP Optimus and Megatron will be cool. If you own the Generations or Maketoys Metroplex perhaps have your one play with himself ;) . Ding dong.

EBay are doing that printer with 20% discount at the moment.

    Back to work for me.

Hopefully that forearm failure is a one off. Don’t forget to create another thread for Bruticus that you are printing. I’m sure many like me will follow that thread.

Yup that's why I'm jumping on it, great price. It's an absolute beast measuring 37" across lol

Probably not as much as you'd think in terms of pla. The joint tolerencing is the most expensive due to parts being printed and binned until its just right.

It's time that's the biggest cost but now I've got a second, bigger printer on the way it's game on.

    Interesting comparison with different printers....

My old workhorse, the JGaurora a5 has a print bed size of 305x305x320mm, which is actually big compared to alot if printers out there. Its enabled me to print the gigantic citybots without cutting up parts so far. Here is one of Metroplexs forearms at 700% scale sliced:

    1000084002.jpg

Not much breathing room left and certainly not big enough to do chest, abdomen and legs in a oner.

Now here's the same part, at the same 700% scale on the incoming Anycubic Kobra 2 Max:

    1000084003.jpg

    Holy. Shit.

This gonna be fun! And alot faster, especially running dual printers where possible.

    Small....update.

    1000084343.jpg

    1000084344.jpg

Shoulder alone is the height of DX9 Gabriel. You can see he's gonna (rightly imo) dwarf Fort Max although that's only the front half and about 3/4 of a 1kg roll of grey pla.

This is gonna use some serious material.
