FINALLY. Only reason I liked having James Gunn around was that I trusted him to give Harley her accurate look and already it doesn't disappoint.

Why would you trust or expect Gunn to go comic-accurate when Guardians of the Galaxy bares only a surface resemblance to any of their comics depictions before the movies? Not that there's anything wrong with that approach, but "comics accurate" is not exactly a hallmark of Gunn aesthetically or with regards to character.

Don't worry, a load of them will get killed off which may prove they were stupid in some way or another. That dude with the arms and the javelin dude may not have a chance.

Which ones? Save for Iron Man and the mo-cap suits those costumes looked like their appearance in the films.

My point was that set pics can make anything look bad and until you see a trailer not to judge.

.....Okay maybe not the best example....

But you can see how much her costume changed from set to film.

Until you see the final who knows what their plan is.

It seems like unnecessary CGI. Why not just give Enchantress the actual costume? It seems totally doable. Sure add the smoke effects later but having to add in the costume and headpiece later just seems like a waste of money. Also Spiderman seems they could have him wearing a suit if he isn't doing any action moves.

Couldn't have that goofy wannabe belly dancing movements when she was supposed to be standing still probably. And what's worse is that she moves like a lump of jello. What was up with that nonsense?

This is the same studio that thought this was a good idea.

Except there are two pipelines; Marvel/Disney and DC/Warner. One pipeline has a reputation for producing if not amazing films then consistent ones about varied characters. The other pipeline has had the occasional diamond show up in a stream of shit.

Reputation matters, and fact is Marvel’s is better than DC’s at this moment.

Set photos of Harley, Ratcatcher, Polka-Dot Man and Idris Elba's s-far-unidentified character.

Ratcatcher reminds me of MCU Mantis. Polka Dot Man looks like he came from the comics. No comment on Elba for now.

Yeah, but WB seems to want to use Harley as a female audience identification character across all mediums. As misguided and ill-conceived an idea as that is. So I agree she is completely safe. Safer than some JL members.

The Suicide Squad: Filming Wraps With Emotional Words From James Gunn

It's a wrap on the filming for The Suicide Squad, according to director James Gunn.

Gunn took to Instagram today to make the announcement that filming had wrapped, sharing a group picture and some of his own reflections on the process. "My father died two weeks before we started filming and my dog died two weeks before the end," he wrote. "It was a hard, hard time in my life and yet the most fulfilling time I’ve ever had making a movie."

"The professionalism, talent, compassion and kindness of this cast and crew inspired me every day. Thanks to everyone involved in this film, in every stage of development, in every department - I am grateful from the bottom of my heart for you all. You are why I make movies."
