Hello everyone! Just wanted to start a fun thread that talks about out Stupidest Moments in Gaming. It could be whatever you remember and don't feel embarrassed or ashamed as we're all humans and need a good laugh.

I have couple of stories/memories but one that always haunts me is when I was a kid my family all went to Reno Nevada for vacation and we stayed @ the Hotel Franchise "Circus-Circus" which is a casino but also catered to kids with arcades and carnival games. Well my mom gave me $100 to cover for 3 days of my gaming and I blew the $100 the first night. Reason you ask? I was playing the 6 player X-MEN arcade and started giving other kids money to help me play and o didn't even beat the game as the final level you have to face each boss again.
Anyways ran out of money ($100) and asked my mom for more and she had this twitch in her eye and literally SLAPPED THE SHIT OUTTA ME.!.!! After that moment I learned to save lol. Seriously if they ever make a time machine I would go back in time to kick my own ass as I was an idiot for paying other kids to play. God I'm an idiot lol.

Anyways hope to hear some from you folks. It can be ANYTHING Gaming related or purchase lol.

    Ouch! X(

My second playthrough of Twilight Princess: I went allll the way up Temple of Time, went allll the way to the boss door and realized I'd forgotten the boss key entirely.

That's by far the worst when you do something and forget the item. I can totally relate as I always forget to pick up the circuit board thingy in RE2 RM after the Clocktower part. I run all the way to the puzzle and am like "Why do I only have 1 Circuit board.!?" Then running back I run into Mr.X and am screwed lol

It looks like you meant this thread to not be specifically about video games, but the title suggests otherwise, so FYI a mod might end up moving this thread to the video game section if you don't change the title.

Anyway, I sunk literally HOURS into Konami beat 'em ups like TMNT, X-Men, and Simpsons, and one thing I can say is that it's actually harder to beat the game with other people playing. More players spawns more enemies, leading to more chaotic action and making it harder to concentrate on keeping yourself alive. Also, there's always that one person who insists on scrolling the screen forward when there's already a bunch of enemies on-screen, causing even more spawns. Most annoying during the X-Men boss rush near the end.
"We're already fighting Blob and Wendigo, I'll just keep going and make Juggernaut appear too. Doesn't that sound like fun?"

Single player not only keeps the enemy number to a minimum, but allows you to inch forward and pick off small groups. The only thing is, the games feature dynamic difficulty, increasing the number of enemies (and the HP of bosses) the longer you go without dying. Which is what makes beating TMNT on a single credit super-hard (believe me, Krang becomes a total hit-sponge).

Go to class late because I was playing Street Fighter II. In college, there was a cafe on campus that had all the latest video games (at the time) and I was addicted to and obsessed with being good at Street Fighter II (Hyper Fighting) and Mortal Kombat II. I wasted a lot of time and quarters on those games.

FYI- This topic will probably get moved to the video games section.

Blaster Master Zero. I got the bad ending first so I traversed the entire game for over three hours going dungeon to dungeon checking every square to every map piece.... Only to realize I missed a singular dungeon is the water area completely because I thought it had only one room. Darn I was wrong!

Oh! How about in borderlands 3 where the Carnivora breaks down, spending 4 hours clearing the map not once but twice because the game apparently thinks the map is too big for it so I took a screenshot the second time? Excellent time used imo. Helps my map clearing addiction.

If that's the stupidest thing you guys did, then you obviously haven't played enough, lol.

I threw the controller at the TV (like full on, Randy Johnson rocketed that shit) while playing that stupid underwater/submarine level in Earthworm Jim. Missed the TV. Put a hole in the wall. Broke the controller.

Did the controller explode into 1000 pieces like when Randy Johnson killed that bird? :p

When I utter the words "Lemme show you how its done." I then proceed to fail spectacularly.

I once got so angry dying over and over again at a boss fight that I hit my leg hard enough to bruise it.

Yeah, a couple semesters into college I started really slacking off to play PC games. Doom, Doom II, Duke Nukem 3D, The 7th Guest...
I totally blew off a history term paper to play Myst. First class I ever failed...

Also, add me the broken controller club. I would get so mad at SNES SFII, or Mortal Kombat 2. Naturally, I felt like a moron afterwards.

summer 2003, after high school graduation, i was playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on dreamcast for weeks to unlock everything and when i did, i discovered that the game unlocks the ability to pick the same character 3 times. after playing for hours, i decided to go to bed but i failed to notice that i turned off the power while the game was saving. the following morning, i was destroyed to see that MvsC2 game file was corrupted and had to delete it. it took me 7 weeks to get everything. i just didn't have the heart to try again.

Damn, that hurts just reading it.

I sold off my NES Megaman collection when I got the PS2 compilation. Still kicking myself for that one. Rebought part 2 at least.

I once embarked on an epic project to screencap every enemy in Megaman Legends & photoshop all the dungeon maps together for my own tribute fan site back in the geo cities days. I can’t even tell you how many hours I wasted for something that maybe only 5 people saw.

But it was a cool site. :D
