So, I have 3 versions of this mold, and yet I've never got the smokestacks to go this way.

Whenever I do the stacks, I put his windvane on this way
    http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers...ownloadItem&g2_itemId=75280&g2_serialNumber=1
But that makes the stacks stick way up high in the air, like they're not really connected to him.

When I try to do it the way it is in the first picture, I can't figure out where the stacks are supposed to go. They end up looking really awkward or really far back from the figure's shoulders, not how they are in that picture.

What am I supposed to do to put them on 'the right way?' Does anyone have any pictures from the side or top that would help me see where they go?

This picture from the front page also has his windvane facing that direction, yet his stacks are a lot higher up than the ones in the Seibertron picture, and even so, this picture still doesnt give me an impression of how they're on (this picture is what inspired the thread)

The seibertron's pic is easy, just put the stack guns the other way around on the wind vane and attach it to Prime's back so that it points up. That's about it.

Not sure about the third pic though, have been fiddling with my Magnus for couple of minutes and still can't figure out anything apart from the stacks wedged loosely between the backpack hinges (its not folded in completely, evidence in the much further back position of the wind vane).

    Hope that helps!

You simply line up the holes on the windvane to the stubs on the guns/stacks for the first picture. For the second, you just jut the vane at an angle. ;)

I tried to do that earlier, but the gun's handle/the folder part barely fit because it's in the same place as all the back kibble (the grill, bumper, etc). I tried it again and it works (I guess I wasnt pushing the peg enough), but it doesnt really look the same as Seibertron's pic... I dunno if the depth of field is warped by his camera, but his looks much closer to Prime's body than mine does. That's why I was hoping to see a side picture, to see if his was an illusion or not.

It will stay in place with just one side pegged in.

It's been a while, so I thought I'd bust out the camera for this.

    You want this:

And really, there's nothing to it. Attach those two pieces like so:

Nothing to it. But yeah, it does catch the grill there in the back, but that's really a non-issue.

    No tricks involved... unlike-

If you want to use the wind vane gun at the same time, the smoke stacks can be held on pretty well just by the mechanical force of the flap on the back folding over them.

I like to fold up the guns and place them just behind my Nemesis Prime's shoulder. Makes it look like he's got a shoulder canon.

A little off topic, but I must find that gun you have for your Prime, Kusanagi. :)

It's from the oversized KO Robot Masters Convoy. The handle has to be shaved down to fit in his hand.

See, this is what I have an issue with it. In the first picture, your camera makes the stacks look like they're right up against his back, but the side picture reveals that they aren't. But, I guess there's really no way around that in reality.

Mine aren't angled like that at all. You should have a little play in the grill assembly where you can fold it barely inward to get more clearance. Also, barely pull the back connector away from the body, then you can sit the windvane nicely 90 degrees with the ground.
