Where did you get that idea? Pretty sure his swords are the bottom of the doors/sides. Notice how his door wings are chopped off at a slanted angle.

I think they released Clunker Bumblebee in this wave instead of Hightower because they were taking longer than expected to finish him.

they list his accessories as "two swords" and "two guns" and it doesn't look like the seams with the swords line up with the doors in alt mode. i'd love to be proved wrong, though.

 

I would say the center piece for the torso is a faux-piece that is stored under the hood in alt-mode because the legs are mostly formed out of the rear part of the car, while the front-bumper pieces are part of the actual front-bumper. And judging by the high-res pictures we just got, the hood, bullbar and roof with the front windscreen are probably going to end up on the back. The transformation kinda reminds me of the HA Soundwave, who also uses a mostly faux chest with some of the real car-parts intergrated.

 

On second thought I'm skipping Crankcase, looks to much like Crowbar for me to use as a generic Dread.

And boy do I feel stupid for getting the first Bee, oh well I'm skipping Clunker Bee for now since I have the clearer version.

That just leaves Barricade, Sideswipe, and WW2 Bee which stay as must haves.

 

So they repainted Crowbar as Crankcase? Odd. Though this one does look more accurate in the colouring. Maybe they'll add insult to injury by putting a CG image of Crankcase on the box.

Clunker Bee is how he should've been in the first place, though it looks like because of the extra paint for rust, his weapon is unpainted.

I've heard that Bumblebee might have his Camaro form in the Bumblebee movie, so I wonder if SS01 was meant to be from the new movie, before he rusted, until the movie release date was moved and Hasbro moved the Bumblebee movie toys to later waves.

 

To be fair, even the MPM didn't get the face completely right either.

 

The renders don't have seams because they're renders, but the physical pics do. You can pretty clearly see the part of the side that forms the sword.  

 

Something about the engineering (or really general look) of WW2 Bee reminds me of RID Ratchet. At any rate that and Barricade are kind of the only ones I’m interested in

 

SS Sideswipe - Looks amazing, and I will be buying him. Even so, I would of prefer is ROTF alt mode, ah well.

SS Barricade - Also looks amazing, but I'm not sure if I'll pick him up since I do have the MPM version already.

SS WWII Bumblebee - I don't like it, but I also don't dislike it. Probably won't buy.

SS "Crankcase" - ... I have no comment. Either way, I've been calling TLK Berserker Crankcase ever since I brought SS Crowbar, so I really wasn't going to buy this figure regardless.

 

so they can get crankcase weapons to be movie accurate but not his face?

 

I wonder if they are actually broken up into wave 5 and 6.

Plus, what's the difference between this camaro Bumblebee and the one from wave 1?

 

Has a different back round and a bunch of rust on it.
