Like I said before, I won't be getting this without the abs being painted. It's just too lazy and cheap IMO to keep them red. Maybe there will be a special edition, but I can't just say this is okay by buying it.

When I saw him in New York at toy fair the trailer looked a lot better than the stock photo.

We already have them. SS has already proven they'll reuse TLK molds as part of the SS line. (I'm fairly certain TLK was a precursor to SS and we didn't know. Most of the figures scale correctly with SS and vice versa.) To get what you consider "actual" SS AOE/TLK figures akin to SS-32 and 38 figures... I doubt will happen. I'm sure they could find a way, but I doubt they'll go to the effort.

It does indeed come off. It fills in the gaps on the trailer itself and it's necessary to remove so Optimus can transform into truck mode as well combine with Jetfire.

It is indeed confirmed. Takara Tomy's instructions confirmed it, but we knew before those instructions were publicly shared.

The entire thing (trailer, accessories, and Optimus) fit the parts count and plastic used. That, altogether, meets the Leader Class price point requirements for this line. We all know it's a fancy accessory pack for a Voyager Class figure, but at least we're getting it. Way overdue, but we're getting it. And I would LOVE for them to label the box in exactly that manner. lololololol

And it's not a complete loss, but man, Hasbro knows how to get us...

You need SS-05 to get the original swords.
You need SS-32 to get the one gas tank gun.
You need SS-44 to get the other gas tank gun, the DOTM sword, the shield, and the Jetwing stuff/trailer.

If you want a truly complete Optimus (up to this point) in the SS line, you have to buy all three. I did it, so I can't complain, I have no room to say a thing, but I can say they do know how to get us. They certainly had no problem turning us upside down and shaking us for our lunch money. lol

This actually gives me hope that we might see a Leozack and Jallguar or Slog and Birdbrain two pack at the Voyager price point, so we can get proper two-bot torsos for their combiners. A pipe dream I know, but at least there is precedent.

I will stick to my Fans Want it Annular Armory with the older Evasion Prime. In my opinion it is far superior to this Voyager release.

Wow he's missing a ton of paint. And the silver windows are really poorly done here. The rims are painted which is a plus vs. DOTM I guess? He looks bad.

And watch as a later AOE Prime gives us the Striker gun and knuckleduster that's being omitted from this set.

Yeah but more paint would have been nice, I think the metallic injection plastic would have looked better if it was a lighter silver like the potp dinobots

I'm not a super stickler for hyper levels of paint on retail figures, but this just shows someone who doesn't really give a care was in charge of final product paint aps.

The trailer looks exactly the same. The only differences are the angle and the lighting, which both contribute to make the gaps stick out more in the stock photo.

Idk the stock images seem to use a gunmetal similar to that on prime

It looks like the trailer is a mostly unpainted prototype.

I know I’m just a fan and I don’t work at Hasbro and make the business decisions but I feel like they could’ve at least added some more paint to the accessories, especially since we’re going to be paying $50 for the figure. I realize I’m comparing two toy lines here, but it doesn’t make sense to me that the accessories that come with the Siege leaders have paint apps that, not only make them look consistent with the base figures (figures that are NEW molds by the way), but also really good, yet the accessories for DOTM Prime, where the base figure isn’t even new and has been reused before, get zero paint apps. At the very least, they could’ve added the blue trim on the trailer. I realize this is all very nit picky, but seriously.

Dang! Isn't this thing $50 for a pre-existing $30 figure and some larger accessories, and they couldn't find the budget to paint the figure OR the accessories?! Optimus has what appears to be 2 paint ops in bot mode: silver for the this-and-thats (including painting over the windows since it was probably a budgeting mistake in trying to shoot the windows as clear with blue paint), and thick red overspray on the chest details. The only paint on the damned accessories is the yellow for the blade, and it's no longer metallic, just gloppy plain yellow. They couldn't even shoot these molds in a nice silvery plastic, just blah gray; the HasbroPulse preorder page still has the silver plastic look and transparent windows: Transformers Studio Series 44 Leader Class Dark of the Moon movie Opti – Hasbro Pulse

This one is a real error in managing its budget and in managing fan expectations.
