With my local hobby stores getting some of the Wave 16 SS figures in stock early, I went there and buy the BB movie Arcee figure, which is a brand new deluxe-class mold that aims to re-create Arcee's design as she appeared in a brief cameo scene in the Bumblebee movie in 2018.

First impressions, this is a pretty neat-looking figure. Despite its size, there's quite a lot of neat sculpting and detailing all over the figure that makes it at the very least, interesting to look at. There's also little to no hollow gaps throughout the figure, which is nice to see.

Posability-wise, there's quite a few well-executed joints such as the double-jointed elbows, ball-jointed back wing kibble, and a balljointed head that can look at the way upwards 60 degrees that do allows for some expressive poses.

However, I do find the lower legs to be a bit awkward to work with due to the way how the lower legs have to transform for alt mode, which also allows the lower legs in robot mode to move in some unintentional ways that can affect the figure's balance in certain poses.

It's not difficult, but this could be one of those figures that you had to have some patience posing to ensure that it can stand up without immediately falling down on its back.

And just like most of the 2022 Bumblebee Cybertronian characters in the Studio Series toyline where their alternate mode was created just for the toys, Arcee here transforms into a pretty futuristic looking Cybertronian motorcycle for her alt mode. Despite its "made up" nature, this mode still manages to look quite cohesive and pretty nice.

Arcee comes with 2 small pistol accessories, which can either be wielded by Arcee herself in robot mode or stored in the back of the motorcycle mode directly still held by her hands.

Yup, I'm not making this up.

Size comparison with a few SS Bumblebee Movie figures I do have (Such as Jet Shatter and Offroad "B-127"):

    With Takara Legends/Thrilling 30 Arcee:

Overall, this figure is pretty much what I expected from a Studio Series figure. I like this figure for what it is, and if you're into those Bumblebee Movie Cybertronian designs then this is another fine addition to said lineup.

So the guns can't store on the backpack tabs in alt mode? That's a shame, but I guess that's a natural consequence of the arms and backpack pods compressing pretty tightly. Still such a good figure from what I've seen, with robot mode weapon storage, good likeness, and satisfactory Cybertronian alt mode. Thank you for your review! Always appreciate seeing what other folks think before I'm able to get my hands on this toy.

Good god, that face. She looks like a burn victim with skin grafts that didn't quite take.

I've checked on those tabs as shown in that picture; Those tabs can indeed peg onto the guns for robot mode storage and for alt mode, they do still sorta works (At the cost of having the hands more exposed than ever):

Oof... Might be better to keep them in the hands, but I'm glad you don't necessarily need to move them if you keep them stored. Thank you for checking!

Does the box have the background scene like the other SS figures?

Looks pretty awesome, I must admit. I've avoided all the Studio Series BB figures since they don't fit with movie-verse-free collection, but I might make an exception for this one since its a pretty unique take on both modes.

Yes, Arcee does also come with the same Cybertron battle backdrop that also comes included with most of the SS BB movie Cybertronian characters. Honestly, if you have one of them you've seen them all.

How were you able to get Arcee so quick?

I feel like the orientation of her hands in robot mode gives her a weird stance, and obviously the face is a bit strange, but I generally love what I'm seeing. I've been a big fan of all of the Cybertron designs we've been getting in the SS line, but this might be the one that tempts me to pick it up.

She looks incredible. I think using the guns as tail pipes is real clever.

Plus, she comes with two so you can give one to Cliffjumper since he had one in the movie too.

Great figure but yeah, face is not good. It's not even just the mouth but also the massive bags under her eyes.

Hasbro’s research have determined that this is what modern day kids find cool and desirable.

Glad I'm not the only one who finds the headsculpt horrifying. I assume it's screen accurate, but wowzers.

@Pcsolyar linked to a replacement from an upgrade kit company I've never heard of before. Not a viable option for me or most - $20 plus $31.50 shipping plus PayPal fee. Woof.

Agreed on the head being pretty yikes, but the rest of the figure looks stellar! Cohesive and clean in both modes. Pretty stoked to get her when she shows up here.

She looks great but yeah somebody’s gotta do something about that head.

Doesn’t look like a winner to me.
