the design looks really good...which was my concern...like would the G1 designs even work live action? apparently they do

 

I liked Movie Prime as-is.

The Peterbilt truck look gives him a design style unique to that universe (plus it's a vehicle you actually SEE on the roads nowadays so it MAKES SENSE as a disguise form; when's the last time anyone even SAW one of those cab-over trucks?!)

stop trying to make every damn line & every damn figure look like 1984.

 

But the movie does take place in the 80s.

 

That didn\'t take long! He looks fantastic, an absolute purchase from me. Same with any and all SS figures we get based on those Cybertronian movie designs.

 

This my favorite version of movieverse Prime so I'm more than excited that this is happening. He looks pretty much spot on to the CGI model too.

Wow, I did not expect that! Frankly, I expected Bumblebee Optimus to just look like his evasion form. This looks amazing! It kind of makes me glad I haven't bought Siege Optimus yet, since I really don't need both.

 

Waking up to this news got me like:

 

I still see them quite a bit. I probably wouldn't notice if I wasn't a transformers fan. But yeah Peterbilts are all over the place.

That being said, if this is a new timeline and it jumps ahead to present day I wouldn't mind seeing a modern day Optimus in that Argosy freightliner that was used for Galvatron in AoE


Added Argosy Truck parts to torso. LOL

That is a great-looking Optimus! I hope he can turn into a clean-looking truck! Studio Series alt modes have been pretty on point so far, so fingers crossed!

It could still rain on Cybertron sometimes.   Not sure why this is harder to believe than all the robots on Cybertron speaking English.

But yeah, this is clearly his Earth mode. I've always preferred a cabover rather than a long-nose truck for Optimus, so really happy about this. For those who have seen the movie, do we see his Earth alt mode/what kind of truck he turns into?

 

Why even have a siege Optimus if you do this?
Or vice versa.
This toy is the pinnacle of absurdity.
They might as well release the siege toys in the movie line with a different deco.

 

It’s not my fave Optimus design, but it’s still pretty good, and glad we’re getting a figure. I’m hoping we get a revised Bumblebee soon as well.

yeah, except for the entirely different aesthetics and design changes, they're totally the same.

 

I wasn't expecting another Cybertronian mode Optimus since we just got one with Siege, but sure, I'm okay with this.

And yeah, he probably turns into what's basically an Earth truck, but so does Siege Prime
