Just got the figure today. Haven't had much of a chance to mess with it outside of the initial transformation to truck mode. Man, that was a chore. I actually kind of enjoyed it except for the panel massaging. The lower should joints don't bother me either as they aren't all that noticable in hand.
OKU do you have a clear picture of the optimus scale or where did you get it from?
So I was messing around with mine tonight and was able to get it to look a little better. If you push on the top side that doent hinge and then the bottom at the bumper you can get it to even out.
This is basically the figure/design I\'d hoped for back in 2007. Better late then never!
Though I did like the 80s Peterbuilt Prime was in the 07' movie, I always hoped he would end up as a classic red Freightliner cab over tractor like the G1 toy. Hopefully they keep this alt mode for the sequel.
When i open up the right shoulder red cover, the right shoulder red cover will fall out from the mushroom peg automatically. And upon closer inspection i found the root cause is the 2 half mushroom pegs are not of the same height. One is shorter than another hence not able to get hold of the shoulder cover firmly even during rotation.
Is this a common problem ?
I have watched a few YouTube review and none of them have this problem.
I tightened the screws on the back of his hips and it fixed the loose hip issue I was having. Might wanna give that a shot yourself.
Thanks for the suggestion! I will have to try that when I get the time this weekend
This might be a silly question, but why doesn’t SS-38 Optimus come with the Autobot logos on his shoulders?
The real Optimus was killed by the Decepticons surrounded him. The one arrives in earth is a clone.
Toxhax will fix it. Don't worry lol.
I love ss-38 but every time i see the cgi or this image it makes me want the latter....im going to throw money on whoever makes this version for sure, 3p, te, mp, ko, os, whichever!
What an amazing design!
SS-38 is based on a concept art and not the actual final CGI render. This is why he's lacking blue hands, red bits on his abs, and Autobot logos which were also not present on his initial concept art.
Birthday gift from gf.
Ah ok thanks for the answer!
I managed to snag this guy at Meijer this morning. Thankfully the box wasn't empty this time! I still haven't got a chance to open him up yet, too much homework, lol. He's actually in my locker now. If all goes well, I'll probably post a review in the feedback thread tomorrow.
The leg tabs can be weak, but otherwise this is the best SS Prime yet.
You're going to love him.
They just need to give him his trailer!
This 9.5/10 figure has me hyped for the eventual MPM version, I think it\'s because this figure has such a long transformation compared to other voyagers at this time. I see why people like Leader ROTF Baytimus, but this, is so much better, in the sense that this figure is based off a more faithful representation of the character and is in the best size class for the charcter. From my understanding, the reason people love Leader ROTF Baytimus is because at the time, and still is, one of the most accurate figures of the character. This Optimus may not have Jamie Lannister levels of depth, but he seems to be more honorable than his Bayformer counterpart. Though I\'m still not 100% happy with design, it would have been better in my opinion, if he was a bit smoother in parts. Well, atleast he has the shape of a \"harmless\"square, and not a spiky death machine.
