Has this guy shown up at Target?

    I noticed it’s mostly Wal-Mart

Yeah it's weird, I've found Siege figures are Target, even the 07 Voyager Prime. SS seems to be largely hitting Wal-Marts first.

So, I wanted to take a day or two to really process this figure and it's now Monday and I've had him since Wednesday and I'm really behind.

Long story short: This is the Optimus we should've had from the get-go. That's not to say he couldn't have evolved into the current design(s) as the films went on, but this is indeed what we should've had from the absolute very beginning.

It's proof that the powers that be don't have a clue as to what the audience wants, especially the fans. They don't care about us and they never did. Unfortunately, the kids who grew up with these movies are now starting to feel the same burn we did/are. I'm sad for them, they were sold a false bill of goods in the long run.

THIS is how you do a proper Optimus Prime toy. Involved, but master-able transformation, good range of motion, nicely sculpted detail and a surprisingly hefty figure as Hasbro stuff goes.

Honestly? POTP and Siege Optimus both pale in comparison to this guy. He's, without a doubt, one of the best Optimus Prime toys ever made and the best movie Optimus toy ever made, period. And he's imperfect! (The lower leg formation of panels is a mess and tends to pop loose depending on how you manipulate it.)

I'm not sure why Hasbro waited this long... When he makes CHUG, Bayverse and MP turn their heads, there's something to be said for that.

People are looking to the rumored 3rd party figure, and they can do that, but they don't need to. This one is pure magic. Hasbro is finally returning to the age of "we're actually trying!"

People who HATE Optimus (and they exist) would find something to like about this toy.

Well said sir. This Optimus blew me away as well despite its flaws, its probably my favorite Optimus, second only to original G1 Prime and MP 10 Prime. Until I got him in hand I did'nt realise how amazing he is, not just in bot mode, but truck mode as well. 20190218_182158.jpg

Today I went to a target in temple terrace Florida and they were packed with all three Optimus’ from the ss line and several other of the latest figures like shatter and the most recent constructicon (scrap metal?) as well as a ton of other random ones

Unexpectedly, I found BB Optimus Prime at the Wal-mart I work at. This is going to be long wait to mess with the figure.

I'm a Primeophile, but I would have liked a couple of things different on this figure. I love the design of it and is the best I think combination of modernizing a G1 version of a character.

I'm waiting for WJ or BMB to get a hold of him to OS and possibly re-engineer the arm and side kibble. Also fix the leg parts to connect better. I'm also not a fan of having to squeeze it all together from different angles to get all the gaps gone. Fit and Finish needed a little more polishing.

I transform mine regularly, so I dont want to remove the parts since the arm kibble is pinned. The leg pieces only pop out when posed certain ways. They are tight when he is sitting on the shelf. For a SS he is still an outstanding figure though. Have to wait and see if they do a MPM version.

I tried searching the thread but didnt find anything, but are all the grilles on SS38 not flush when transformed? In the render you can see the center part sitting flush in alt mode

But I've noticed every pic I've seen of the cab the center part juts out a bit when fully transformed
    [IMG]

The thing is the center grille part does sit flush before you collapse the front windshield, but those two little tabs at the bottom seem to be pushing the part out when you fully collapse everything so its no longer flush with the rest of the grille.
