I’m not sure where I should be posting this, but I guess we’re getting a voyager Studio Series Optimus Prime from Bumblebee! I found the picture from primevsprime on Instagram, but I don’t know where the original picture came from.

 

I'm totally hype! I almost ruined a pair of pants when I first saw this.

 

I think much like Bumblebee's pre-earth bot, all the Cybertronian bots in the film weren't intended to transform feasibly.

So the BB Optimus was always intended to be an Earth mode Optimus. Travis Knight's idea of a CGI Cybertron film is welcomed, but it looks like WFC Siege and IDW has that covered.

 

Well in MTMTE (the 3 part pilot to the original cartoon not the comic) all the transformers, save Laserbeak, had their earth style robot modes even with cybertronian vehicle modes. Seems to be the basis for WFC Siege as well.

It probably is using the same engineer as Siege Optimus because why wouldn’t you use the same engineering.

Over the course of the following year, between this, the new MP, siege Optimus, as well as recent voyagers, like Studio Series and voyagers from TLK and AOE, I feel I will have every Optimus I could possibly need, and every conceivable variation on that theme I could possibly want. The majority I've been really happy with, but somehow just when I think I'm out they pull me back in.

 

And just when I was starting to think this might not happen...

 

Now it's time for me to debate with myself which new Optimus Prime to get. This isn't a bad situation. This is why I'm glad for the brand unification. I get to argue with myself about which design would be the best for my collection.

 

YES! Can't wait to see pics of the actual toy! Looks like I'll have to have another "Wall of Optimus Prime Toys MISB" again, like I did circa 2008...

 

I honestly thought they would skip these designs, the siege line pretty much fills that void, I mean siege Ravage is pretty damn close to how Ravage was shown in the film.

Still though, makes me hopeful of Blitzwing and seeker drones 

 

It says "Voyager class" on the lower right side of it, doesn’t it?

Anyways, the design is great; I hope the figure can capture it well.

 

I think right now is the best time to be a Transformers fan.

1. A critically acclaimed Live action movie with lots of G1 themes (I hope it is a financial success as well)
2. The Siege toyline
3. A new comic series from a tried and tested comic company who has proven to know how to handle the brand
4. G1 style cartoon for the kids (Cyberverse)
5. Brand unification.

It literally says 'Voyager Class' on the instructions.

 

Wow!!! Just wow! Does this toy look great! Now we’re left wondering what 31 could be? Blitzwing? Sentinel Prime? Soundwave? Shockwave? Who knows?

 

I think the reasoning is that this figure is his earth mode, (look at the smokestacks and windshield wipers) so it’s fair game.

 

When did Marvel UK go back into business and take over the license? LOL

This was my exact same process. Like the blue on the arms was clearly intended to be some part on the back of a truck. So I wondered what was gonna happen with toys. Cause they could easily be concept art figures. Like most movie toys. I do hope this figure has the earth truck mode. But I feel it would need some kibble like the grill and other sections. Cause much like bumblebee’s Cybertron form that we’ve seen and his Jeep form, kibble changes.

I really hope we get a remold of the VW Bee into a shorter Camaro Bee like in the end of the film. That’d be a real treat.
