Lately I’ve been working on displaying my figures rather than getting new ones, like Jabba’s Palace and the Yavin Throne Room for my Black Series.

Those two were on Billy shelves and this time I decided to tackle my Vittsjo shelves with Transformers. After rewatching DotM and a drunk Amazon search I decided to do the Lincoln Memorial scene with Megatron on his throne. This took about 3 days.

    DAY ONE - Layout

The first day was pretty much layout and getting foam from Home Depot. First my Vittsjo units are 19.25x14.125x15.625 inches so I drew up a rough layout and got some 4’x8’x.5” insulation foam from Home Depot for 15$. Turns out my car is too small for this and I got creative.

I also had some foam boards laying around from Target so I cut them to size for my baseplate, side plates, and back plate. I ran out for the back so I cut two and then puttied/taped them together.

Next up is cutting the foam blocks, the back tier are four 1/2 inch put together and the first tier are two 1/2 inch cut according to my layout and carving in the brick details with a knife

DAYS TWO AND THREE - Carving and Paint

After my Lincoln statue arrived from Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0098O3PBK/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I went right to mutilating my favorite president. This took like 5 hours and messed up all my tools. Don’t do what I did since this is a resin statue

After becoming John Wilkes Booth painting started for everything. I did a flat dark grey base coat with acrylic for everything, then stippled on a lighter grey with some plastic bags and repeated with white to make a marble like look.

The baseplate has some back lines with stippled white to look like veins but I realized my figures will cover it so I stopped

With all the paint done I nailed the side and back plates to the foam dio and put my Movie Decepticons on it.

Now I want to do more dios for these selves but don’t have any good ideas except maybe Stonehenge for my other Decepticons and maybe Hong Kong for my AoE Autobots. But after this one I’m not breaking resin again.

I was considering that but as of now I have zero room for that dio. Maybe when I put in another shelf but that won’t happen for a while
