Yea they were initially supposed to look like the details he has already on his shoulder but stick out a little more, but atm they are a little out of place. I’m trying to figure out a better way to hide them or blend them in. No parts forming is the goal! I’ll use that shovel for bucket head, but it’s plastic so it will be cut up.
I looked at the concept art and his shoulders are bulkier than I remember. I'm sure when it's painted, it will look less out of place.
Here’s how the back of his alt mode will look. and here is how that black part will fold. and here is placement of his shoulder pads and where that black part is going
I’m going to try to change up his legs a bit, make the shovel more like toes than the shoe look he originally had, and try to hide the other shovel bits on his thighs. Correct, I know it’s not accurate, but I wanted to add the only real detail his combined mode has that is recognizable. And to make his arms slightly less visible on robot mode. also let’s be honest if we are talking about accuracy the audio series didn’t even try
I'm currently collecting the Studio series atm and stand very dissapointed at the fact we got Scrap metal and and not Bucket Head. If Devil Saviour can do it why not hasbro. Scavengers transformation into the torso is not much better either.
I have to say I really like him as he is. He looks like a futuristic wheel loader which would fit very well into the Cybertron line. But you are definitely right there for this figure. AND Overload maybe. I am really disappointed that he has only two legs.
Yea, why they made that decision is beyond me, and I believe it was a focus on good robot modes, and the figures who have crazy transformations just suffered as a result. So scavenger and scrapper got the unfortunate results. Once I get overlord he will be changed considerably, and I may do the same thing with Hightower and make him have 2 legs, but the option of splitting into his spider legs. You know because I am not crazy enough. thank you! And yea I honestly didn’t expect to do this much but I was so disappointed by his combined mode. My only real concern is how to add strong enough joints to bear the weight of devy. I’m either going to go with a stand and be sad, or figure out where to find ratchet joints I can find and put all over him.
I was actually talking about the stock version. I am definitely looking forward to see this. I want to mod my Overload as soon as I get him, too. I want to make his "scorpion tail" entend by splitting it horizontally and incorporating some folding hinges. I'd like to give him a second pair of legs, as well, but I don't see a way to do that without sacrificing his alt mode and/or buying a second copy of the figure for the second pair of legs.
What about an additional smaller constructicon Like a steam roller, as an added joint between the devy body and scrapper, to lengthen the arm
I am trying to keep his as realistically accurate as I can based off of his combined mode and certain concept art, and unfortunately the additional bot would either be too small, make his arm too long, or just not be accurate at all. Anyways with my additions he should be near enough the right size, at least once I fix up his legs
This Is an amazing Custom like The other constructicons, now i want Scrapper (Custom like yours) haha, the Wheel Loader mode is very realistic! Your Devy going to be a beauty beast
there is a lego piece that is definetly strong enough to hold his weight and it can break into 2 parts to hide it better.
I do have some of those, but they are not really gonna be strong enough, I may take some from some of my combiner wars bots. anyways, here is his arm mode so far minus fingers and his cab.
You could double them up? They wouldnt be able to snap apart anymore, but I think two of those side by side would probably be pretty strong, and you could have a non moving connection point on one of the sides of the joint
I could, but the space I am working with is a little tight. I may end up using something similar, but it all depends of when I get overload and see where I need to make changes.
Here is a little update on how I am hiding all the extra bits on his back, not connected yet, but will be attached to rampages cabin.
