I was speaking to an employee of a local store and this employee is legit.

They've been correct in the past about things over the years like Beast Hunters, SS Megatron from TF1 and Mixmaster as a voyager, Hot Rod with a French accent among other things so I'm likely to believe what I was told.

They've access to upcoming stuff and they said an upcoming item is Studio Series Devastator in a box set. I'd normally say take it with a grain of salt but given they're unique moulds and some have been difficult to come across I wouldn't be surprised if they were released in a set.

Anyway it might be a bit of news.

I'll believe it when I see an actual listing or the actual set itself.

 

Can only hope there is some boxset packaged in combined mode in a big fairly clear box like the first MP grimlock, the seacon reissue, or burning fallen (and preferably a store exclusive at a slight discount). Would love a nice combined display piece with the individual bots scattered around it.

Also, in before locked as much as I hope it to be true.

 

Ask them for the product code number (or "item model number" or whatever). If they say E7301, they might be onto something.

I'll get on it. It's a reputable source. This individual is a collector too and was going to buy individual constructicons but has decided against doing that due to the box set, the person is very certain as they work in ordering stock.

TBH even though I'm collecting the individuals I'd still buy a box set purely to have one set in robot modes around Devastator.

 

Literally none of the Constructicons have been difficult to come by, except the ones that were most recently released, and that’s just a matter of time.

Is it me or are boxsets just a lot more convenient?

If this is legit, and provided I have the funds for it, I'm gonna POUNCE on this.

As long as it’s at least 260$ And doesn’t include anything extra I don’t mind a box set, I will be annoyed if it costs less than the parts individually or includes exclusive stuff

 

If real, that's going to be a pricey set - combined MSRP of the Constructicons is $260, so I'd expect the set to be somewhere around $250 (I wouldn't expect a significant discount compared to the individuals, going by recent TF multi-pack pricing).

At that price, I don't think any major retailers would bite. Probably an etailer/collector-store exclusive (BBTS, Entertainment Earth, maybe Amazon).

I think a box set is more than a sure thing. Let's wait and see for more info. Maybe an extra painted Devs like the one seen at Wonderfest???

 

What if it turns out to be a G1 colours box set...

 

Well, as long as it is nearly identical or an alternate version not essential, like say those golden Bumblebees with the G1 tapes, I'm cool with.

Imma be pissed off if if 5 constructicons in, they decide to release the markedly better version of Devy.

 

If it for any reason includes exclusive pieces, that would be a pretty big slap in the face to the folk who have been diligently buying the Constructicons over the past year...
