Studio Series Deluxe Class Bumblebee is a retool of the Last Knight Deluxe Bumblebee mold released in the later waves. Changes in the mold include the implementation of the cannon weapon which is now wielded in the right arm. It is much easier to remove and use now. Weapon storage is the same on its lower back in bot mode, as well as in back of its car mode. The other main notable change is the way the leg kibble is used to fill out its outer legs in robot mode, most probably to address previous complaints of the TLK mold. On my copy, transforming to car mode was frustrating as the hood tended to pop off. Overall, I recommend this Deluxe for the cool retro 76 Camaro mode and the mold improvements.

His leg transformation is annoying at best. But it does show they're actually trying with complexity again.

The roof popping off is aggravating and it could've been fixed with a small pin.

He's definitely using the engineering of TLK Bumblebee, but he's not a remold. There's a lot of new parts. I do think, visually, he's much nicer than the original from 11 years ago. And no breakable chest gimmick, which is nice.

 

How similar is the canon cam to TLK bee? Could you use one of these arms to replace TLK Bee's to give him the correct canon arm?

 

Nice! It's good to no that people are having an issue beforehand, as I can prepare for that. I didn't want to transform it while worrying if I'll snap him. Keep the reviews coming!!

Gotta say, I like him more than I thought. I thought the transformation was a little bit annoying, but once I got the hang of it, things seemed to click into place. The only other complaint I have is he feels really tiny, like almost scout class if I didn't know any better.

Still, I recommend him.

 

Someone...PLEASE, angle the poor guy’s wings!!! Nothing I hate more than a movie bumblebee with flat wings.

 

You can't angle the wings.

 

How can you not angle the wings back? They have to close for alt. mode.

 

The only nitpick I have with this figure is one that applies generally to all deluxe Bumblebees from ROFT Cannon Bumblebee onwards: I really wish that instead of flipping the front wheels to the sides, they’d have the sides angle in to bing the doors closer. That was a nice way of getting the wheels on the back as well as making the wing placement more accurate. It’s a shame they’ve started including the secondary wings but they nowhere near meet in the middle.

Still, this is a nice update, and I hope they do the same for the black AOE version at some point.

 

Mine came in today as well, I’m glad to have a 70’s Camaro B.B. seeing as I kept passing yhe TF1 version on the shelf when it was out knowing I should have bought one.

 

Thanks for the reviews and pics everyone. Once I saw that he has the same crappy canon gimmick and general transformation scheme as the TLK one I was automatically out on this one. Just not interested in anymore Bee figures unless they are beyond stellar. Awesome to see the classic camaro again though!
