    Never thought I'd say this about a Studio Series figure, but I'm going to pass and get the mainline one instead.

    I still don't understand how the mainline one looks infinitely better than the studio series one......

    The nice thing about these two releases is that you can have them be two different characters - like Hawkman and Hawkgirl

    Sculpt work looks pretty good. Colors aren't bad either, though I think it could use a bit more silver in some areas to help break up the dominance of brown and gold.

    The Cyberverse Deluxe figures went up for $25 and then were dropped down to $20. So who knows.

    My guess is that the Studio Series ones are based on how the characters actually look in the movie while the mainline ones are just "movie-ified" versions of the Beast Wars characters. Since the movie is yet another Michael Bay joint (he's not directing but he is producing) then it's understandable why the Studio Series versions look like crap.

    At one point that was probably true, the robot mode still may be but the beast mode isn’t. The mainline one is more accurate.

    I am curious to find out why they changed it and went back to the original concept of it being feathers.

    I personally find the reuse of kingdom engineering to be disappointing. YMMV and i know its not a new thing to transformers. But I expect better for a movie line

    I recall hearing that the mainline was meant to come out with the film last year, and the studio series this year. Since the mainline toys were designed early, they often don't have the most up to date designs and are less screen accurate, while the SS toys could be more true to the final model since they come out later. However, if that was true I would think it would be the mainline that would reuse Kingdom engineering to get the figures out quickly.
