Fantastic robot mode. Alt mode is a thing that exists

 

Great robot mode hampared by a dogwater transformation. Small tabs holding large chunks of him means that I spent more time fixing parts of him that got misaligned.

Shame considering the alt mode does look cool even if its just him doing a spread eagle. I still recommend him though, just as an action figure.

 

Looks like we all are in agreement about the robot mode. It really is a good one

 

Can somebody show me how in the hell the thing in the back tabs/connects in robot mode? It's literally the first thing you do with the figure out of the box. The instructions are tiny and suck. Mine pop off constantly.

 

You have to slide them in using grooves in the back. Then, they'll slot in together. You'll need to unslot them for the vehicle mode transformation, as they peg in to the legs there.

 

Considering he didn’t transform in the movie (if he even HAD an alt mode at all since he was one of the 7/13 Primes and they couldn’t have had one for all we know), I personally, if/when I get him, most likely won’t bother with transforming him at all and keep him in his awesome robot mode

For future reference for people who visit this thread.

Obviously no one is buying it for the alt mode (including me), but I think it hits the basic comprehensibility of an alt mode (just like the original pretenders) where it does the job just competent enough to get your imagination to fill in the rest. Personally I just didn't expect him to be so fiddly in the transformation and I was hoping that he'd be simple, satisfying and straightforward to convert to the """"jet"""" mode when I'm taking breaks whilst I'm taking breaks on my assignments.

 

Is it just my copy or are those ball joints on his secondary arm thingys just barely holding on? Mine pop loose if I so much as think about moving his arms and it made transforming it a real pain.

 

WOW this figure is so cool! Such a joy to pose and he looks awesome from every angle. What a presence! My only wish is that they'd given the hands an extra hinge or something to curl around the staff, but so far I'm really happy with this thing. Haven't even transformed it yet but from what I've seen I'm not missing much haha but it could be fun to figure out a fan mode or something too! And I'm definitely checking out that sun harvester fan mode at some point.

 

I only have three figures preordered (with no intent on more after, I already pushed my luck with my fiance ordering these three). Transmetal 2 Megs, Voyager Tarn and this guy here. I'm ok with waiting on my Amazon preorder, but man...seeing these pictures, I cannot wait to get the big guy in. I still have and adore my original voyager The Fallen, it was a great toy with a few minor flaws, but having such a great representation of one of the more interesting and unique designs (Constructicons aside) amongst the movie bots...I need it.

 

I think you’ll like it. I’m very impressed with the figure. He’s a lot of fun to pose. And here he is with the one accessory that I wish they’d included but luckily I have one already!

 

Where did you get the accessory? I need one and wanting on 3rd party may or may not happen

 

It's actually a painted version of the one that came with battle blades voyager Optimus. Sorry it's not exactly easy to get these days.

EDIT: And I finally transformed the figure. The alt mode is...something. The tabs don't hold together as well as I'd like, and the way the arm flaps make him look like a cricket is a bit odd but I don't hate it. I think someone can probably come up with a cooler looking configuration but for now I'm gonna do what hasbro says it should look like. I think it'd look cool with some guns instead of the staff halves on the "wings" too, although I guess you could pretend they're guns of some alien kind.

 

I have that matrix too from battle blades prime who is a great figure. I cant wait for the fallen. I've just preordered it

Can someone explain what step 16 is supposed to be? Looks like something in the arm is supposed to tab in something, but we already tabbed the forearm to the shoulder and the knee to the armpit earlier

I have been messing around with mine for abit now. I am taken aback by how much clear plastic there is. Considering how tight the bicep swivels are on mine (loosening the screw didn't help much) i am rather concerned how it will fair long term.
