Yikes! And I thought the partsforming on ER Cliffjumper was bad. I might be able to excuse detachable wings if necessary, but the whole back section? That's just poor design and it makes Steeljaw a bit less appealing. Where is that kibble supposed to store when Steeljaw is in Blaster's tape deck?

ITT people wondering why he doesn't have as much articulation as the bigger toy that doesn't have to Transform into anything, or the bigger toy that transforms but costs 3 times as much. Or the figure that get marginal articulation due to transformation, but was universally mocked, disliked, and used as an example of a bad figure.

I've got the Dr Wu, and they are crazy cool, but also feel incredibly fragile and would be a disaster at mass retail.

I don't really think Steeljaw needs THAT much articulation in the mainline, as long as he can stand on all fours just fine that's good enough for me.

Sure, why does anything need knees and elbows as long as it can stand fine.

:lolol  To be fair I said 'good enough for me', I'm aware that may not be the case with everyone but I'm fully cognizant of the fact that Hasbro's figures these days are noticeably being held back due to budgetary issues so obviously corners will be cut someplace, and with Steeljaw it looks like it was his elbows and knees.

Still think he looks good enough.

I also collect stuff like Super 7's non-transforming figures so in general as a collector stuff like articulation is less of a concern to me.

Ah, dammit, I thought I'm fine with the Bumblebee I already own. But this one looks really more like the cartoon and when everyone else on that shelf is slavish to the cartoon, he just stands out in comparison. But I will then put my other Bumblebee on the Masterpiece shelf. With that VW alt mode I think that's fine.

I have no problem with partsforming in these little guys that have to mass shift due to their animation models. Made sense with the Rumble/Frenzy pile drivers, makes sense with guns since 1984, and makes sense here

I didn't mind those so much since they were just weapons, but Steeljaw here won't even have his tail.

Yeah, I would've much preferred if the tail was integrated and he just came with two removable guns like the G1 toy. Would make a lot more sense. This configuration also makes giving new weapons to Nightstalker harder.

I don't think he meant anything. Just this little cassette guy.

But why does the little cassette guy not deserve knees as much as any other figure?

I don't think he said it didn't deserve them, just that for him, it didn't need them.

They’re small and knees would be extremely fragile and likely wouldn’t aid the posing that much. In hand, when you see the size of it with your own eyes and display him next to other figures, you won’t be missing little knee hinges.

I've got both Siege and SS Ravage in hand and believe me, proper knees would do wonders for the old Ravage and for Steeljaw. And based on the available images, the width of the legs doesn't seem much different than those of BB Ravage.

Just what do you think knees would accomplish for that peanut sized little lion? His legs aren’t even long enough to warrant them!

He's literally got two distinct sections sculpted into his legs where joints should be! This is like arguing that modern Micromasters shouldn't have knees.

The Micromasters are bipedal and their legs are longer than Steeljaw’s. Steeljaw’s legs are more like the legs on a table!

Who cares if they're bipedal! Lions have as much movement as people do, if not more, despite being four-legged.

SS BBM Ravage is a great figure because of his articulation. Saying quadrupedal bots shouldn't have knees because they're 'like a table' is mad, and I genuinely can't understand why you're arguing against additional articulation for a figure.

You aren’t considering structural stability and longevity. Additionally, this figure is much smaller than BBM Ravage! Quadrupedal robots should have knees IF they’re large enough to facilitate them.
