Earthrise Starscream torso really ruins the mould for me. It looks like he is wearing a refrigerator box as a shirt. Even the 2009 classics deluxe starscream was able to get the shape right, but somehow the made it worse here. The shouldve looked at some 3ps or even their own designs like MP 2.0 or robotmasters for inspiration. Anyyyyway, yeah I agree waist swivel (and at least 1 finger) would be cool. He needs be able to do his dramatic pointing!
I didn’t like his cockpit transformation and I wasn’t a fan of that white piece across his collar area. It blocked his cockpit kibble.
I was thinking about this the other day and tbh I wish Swoop would have been a leader rather than a voyager. Make him about voyager Cyclonus's height and build, but then stack those massive wings on his back. He would easily push into leader territory. Unless Swoop is gonna be the largest voyager we've ever gotten, I'm worried he'll seem too small next to his 4 massive leader teammates
Maybe I'm crazy for this take, but a smaller Swoop means that Slash won't look so crazy out of place. Six dinobots works great for me, but with all of them being huge and one being tiny, it would be off.
Best solution is to give us leader Swoop and a Slash redo in voyager class. Obviously won't happen, but I would really like to get a Slash that isn't a tiny legends figure
I'm sort of in the same boat. If for whatever reason they decided to up Swoop to a leader, I would definitely enjoy it. But that being said, I would also be happy with a voyager swoop. Also yeah, I would absolutely love a new Slash to match these guys just for the hell of it. Preferably a deluxe for me this time, so that she can still be the little sister. Though voyager could also work.
Aren't Velociraptors supposed to be kind of small? Either way, can't wait to complete them all. 2 dinobots a year? Grimlock and Slag 2021 so in 2022 two others?
Real-life velociraptors were about the size of a medium dog. Like, ~3.5' to the top of the head, at best. The man-sized things that Jurassic Park popularized were actually deinonychus. Or possibly closer to utahraptor, even. Pretty visually distinct from real velociraptors. Size aside, velociraptors had smaller, flatter skulls, like ostriches with teeth. Deinonychus and utahraptor had the bigger, rounder skulls like what we're more familiar with from the movies.
I've been telling the same, somehow people think the earthrise seeker mold were better. I suppose because it's bigger. If it were better, I would have bought it.
Yeah Jurassic park lied, velociraptors are tiny in real life. Also, pteranodons are basically entirely wing and have very little mass in their bodies. Neither Slash nor Swoop should be a leader based on reality. Not that the SS86 dinobots are in any way based on reality, but still. Bummer that we'll never see a commander Sludge.
That's exactly why I say Slash should be deluxe. The Dinobots aren't realistic dinosaurs, so having unrealistic sizes for their dino modes isn't that big a deal. Hell if we wanted to talk realistic dino modes for the Dinobots, Grimlock and Slash would need feather detailing or something (I don't think they should, but BW Megatron and Dinobot on the other hand...). Either way, the fact that Slash's dinosaur is a very small one compared to the others is why I feel she should be small, but not legends/core class, that feels too small. She's still an ass-kicking Dinobot.
Plus introducing a bunch of new smaller Dinobots means they've got new guys they can mix in to assortments.
