Hot damn! I'm really looking forward to him. I truly hope we get them all. I need Swoop. Then I need G2 Swoop. Let's gooooooo!
Theft isn’t defined by the $ amount. GROSS revenue less, that pesky thing you have to spend on, oh, idk, salaries.
Honestly, neither is the cut and dry winner. MP-08 was intended to be an MP, whether or not it successed or not is up to the consumer, though I'd reckon most don't see him that way. SS86-06 is intended to be a CHUG, and I think most people would agree in saying it is very successful at what it seeks to achieve. MP-08 effectively has the some posability as SS86-06, but packs in more features. I'd say MP-08 is the better overall figure, but SS86-06 is cheaper in every standard, whether it be in 2009 or in 2021 dollars. One is very toy inspired, the other is animation inspired. It's up to the consumer to determine whether or not it is the DEFINITIVE CHUG Grimlock. For me, I'd rather have MP-08... so I could then sell him off to get an SS86-06 Grimlock and paint up with metallic paints.
MP-8 is an MP dude its way more expensive and in my honest opion the SS86 grimlock looks way better in t rex mode which is what I'll have him posed in
Quite a shame they ditched the milky cartoon yellow, I thought it looked great. Still the bright gold is quite nice and suits the figure without going too dark. POTP was far too bland and its hardcore toy homage worked against it. The black window on the chest is quite annoying and unwarranted though, the clear one it used to have didn’t obscure the Autobot logo, and maintained some toy homage without circumventing cartoon accuracy.
I seriously hope this happens, it'd be pretty lame if all the butt-ugly Constructicons got figures (including at least two that weren't even in the movie) but we didn't get a complete set of Dinobots from this series. I'd also very much like to see Slash and Grimstone next to these guys.
odd choice to hide his autobot emblem behind smoked plastic but he looks fantastic overall... only other weird thing is how bare his dino-neck is as they didn't drop any of the greebling everywhere else...
Damn you Hasbro, I was trying to save that $50! yeah, grimlock’s perfect and I’m another $50 in the whole. Jesus Christ, Hasbro is draining me. I’m already $170 above budget due to SS86! But if it means I get my hand on every figure in that group shot... that sweet, sweet group shot. This makes me want Hasbro to redo Prime figures, as their figures’ current levels of engineering, paint and all around awesomeness will lead to the best thing I’ll ever own.
Chest piece is wayyyyyy too opaque... and what is up with the wrist-plates being that pale beige-grey? Near perfect other than that, gives the MP a run for the money...
I wonder if the neck is still transparent plastic painted over in gold. It might be possible to strip it off to reveal the detail underneath.
While the folks saying this is better than MP-08 and Grinder are engaging in more than a little hyperbole, He does look like a damn fine figure at $50. Good lord, those screw holes on the side of his dino head....someone needs to plug those up right quick. They look horrendous.
Grinder is straight up... whatever. I see this guy as a joke in comparison to Grinder, but I wouldn't expect less from a large MP.
He announced it on his Instagram, then a board member posted screenshots on a thread somewhere. Then PrimeVsPrime confirmed it on these boards. We know for certain that he got Kup, Blurr and Jazz through the partnership he has with Zavviuk and Hasbro. Grimlock seems to maybe not be through that deal, or maybe it is and he didn’t feel like showing off the box. The Hot Rod and Scourge reviews were made before the partnership seems to go into effect. To recruit him I’d a sound business deal for all parties involved. PrimeVsPrime keeps making his reviews, Hasbro gets a solid reviewer and hype man, and we all get to see figures early. Win-win-win.
