Wait, those are different figures? Different figures of the same character??
I for one am shocked.
As in the movie shot I posted, usually whenever he's next to an actual yellow Autobot, his shade is always more subdued to look more golden:
If not gold, then I at least think a shade of yellow more like this would make the figure look so much nicer:
Even though I have my qualms with the color, I still think this Grimlock looks fantastic all around. Even without being super show accurate (his arms and legs are THICCer than the animation model and the G1 toy, but it looks better so whatever), he looks like a super nice update to the character. I just wish he had a bit more of a premium paint job to really seal the deal.
To be honest among the four Siege cars yet to get ER forms. Siege Mirage could easily pass for an Earth F1-race car. Possibly a custom model to avoid licensing issues. And I’ve been constantly debating if I should buy him or not because of it. The Only question is would they rerelease him with Earth writing on the sides in place of the Cybertron writing? Though given his wish to return home to Cybertron him keeping the writing as it is would fit his character.
...I’m trying to talk myself into buying him despite the possibility they might make an Earth version. I don’t want to waste my money.
Nobody is forcing you to listen to me or take my advice. It's your money in the end. You can put me in your ignore list just as well or scream LALALALA as you read my post, whatever. But you can't deny the facts. Behind the bright colors of these releases, it's down to getting money from us by nostalgia appeal. Of course they are rentals. You guys really believe there's not gonna be a better Grimlock in the future? Look at Starscream MP 3.0! You guys don't think they'll fix Cyclonus legs in two years because those knees look like shit right now but it's still a better Cyclonus than we had in POTP and bigger than the Classics one? You're buying stuff over and over, every year believing you finally have a complete set of something... to get hyped all over again for some repaint or retool or even an original mold. You ask yourself "why did they release it in the wrong color?" "why only two in this set of three?" "why the wrong scale?" "why exclusives" and still you buy and buy. That's how a subscription works: NEXT ISSUE: Better stuff! Stay tuned!
They're not rentals because you don't have to return them. And it's not a subscription because it's not all or nothing. Your comparisons are factually incorrect.
I dunno, for me, buying things that look really cool to me, and not buying things that don't, has proven to be a pretty great strategy. Rarely do I buy a toy that I want to get rid of again just a few years later.
Here\'s the list of Studio Series 86 figures I really want Hasbro to make!
Just gonna say it, but I would love a whole new cast of characters. I love G1, but give me something new. I've already got multiple representations of all these characters, I don't need any of these.
Feels weird Galvatron is Kingdom and not SS86 here.
You're welcome to like or dislike G1/the movies, but stop bickering with one another. The line is now giving everyone what they want. The Studio Series line isn't ending just because they're doing G1 characters from the G1 film and because they're doing G1 characters doesn't mean G1 is inherently superior to Bayverse. This is the second thread I'm seeing this exact same argument in and it's getting really old.
Just wait until they start referring to themself as someone speaking some sort of truth.
I know, right? I definitely agree. I was fine with including the 86 movie dudes because it was their anniversary. And the fact that they were a subline was fine with me, just so long as we keep getting figures from Bayverse and stuff.
It’s the fact that all of his posts give off this vibe that if you like bay stuff, you’re automatically a less important fan than someone who likes G1.
Or: Dion redecoed from Wheelie, Orion Pax redecoed/retooled from Kup, and Ariel retooled from Netflix Elita 1
Yeah, Dino and Jolt! Fingers crossed that one of the bumblebees is a TF5 Hot Rod.
Well, as a movie fan, let me tell you that not all of the designs lend themselves to traditional forms of articulation. Like, the designs aren’t exactly the easiest to adapt to toys haha
We haven’t seen it yet, but I think Gnaw is going to be a new figure. And Takara Wheelie isn’t screen accurate at all. I’d way prefer a new version over a re-release.
Well previous listings have confirmed that one of the Bumblebees for next year is from ROTF. He'll include a Sam figurine (as per the listings say), and reportedly he'll have interchangeable faces (between his normal face, and his battle mask)
No thinking about it, this Gnaw is gonna be a deluxe as opposed to the legends class.
I'm expecting Gnaw to just be a cliffjumper-like case where it's around legends size but is better quality than the average legends figure and includes a bunch of accessories
There's not really any extra accessories that would be appropriate for Gnaw to come with though, the only weapons he uses are a gun and his tail.
He could come with a piece of Kranix.
Did he even have that much? I only recognize the tail
