Hell, that's the only reason I got the MP Bumblebee Except it didn't. The franchise wasn't in need of saving when the movie came out, in fact the franchise was doing well enough for a filler line to be created simply to fill space before the delayed movie came out (that was the classics line in 2006). But you like to ignore history, there's not point in replying to this comment, I won't see it because I'm done interacting with you They didn't really rerelease the TR Sharkticon though, the released a repaint of it in a limited run $70 exclusive box set. Not exactly the same as a rerelease. Nobody is forcing you to buy anything, these figures aren't rentals, they aren't a subscription and if that's the way you see it then you should probably take your own advice and not "play".
Hell, it might be the Year I Complete My TF Collection...we old-school fans are checking so many important characters off our lists...capped off by Unicron and the Ark, no less. I might be done after next year. I'm kind of looking forward to focusing on other properties.
Another thing: Grimlock's gold parts weren't yellow in the cartoon or the movie. They were colored more subdued with the intention of looking like gold. Having them be super bright and vibrant yellow makes it look really cheap and off.
I mean, I probably would, but there are still four missing spots of my collection that Hasbro still has yet to fill... and no, decade-old deluxes and voyagers that run for $125 on the aftermarket don't count.
Yes, but they released it. Wheelie could be in some box set. Here's how I would do it. Marvel colors Wheelie: Orion Pax from Kup, per tradition...
As in the movie shot I posted, usually whenever he's next to an actual yellow Autobot, his shade is always more subdued to look more golden: If not gold, then I at least think a shade of yellow more like this would make the figure look so much nicer: Even though I have my qualms with the color, I still think this Grimlock looks fantastic all around. Even without being super show accurate (his arms and legs are THICCer than the animation model and the G1 toy, but it looks better so whatever), he looks like a super nice update to the character. I just wish he had a bit more of a premium paint job to really seal the deal.
To be honest among the four Siege cars yet to get ER forms. Siege Mirage could easily pass for an Earth F1-race car. Possibly a custom model to avoid licensing issues. And I’ve been constantly debating if I should buy him or not because of it. The Only question is would they rerelease him with Earth writing on the sides in place of the Cybertron writing? Though given his wish to return home to Cybertron him keeping the writing as it is would fit his character. ...I’m trying to talk myself into buying him despite the possibility they might make an Earth version. I don’t want to waste my money.
Nobody is forcing you to listen to me or take my advice. It's your money in the end. You can put me in your ignore list just as well or scream LALALALA as you read my post, whatever. But you can't deny the facts. Behind the bright colors of these releases, it's down to getting money from us by nostalgia appeal. Of course they are rentals. You guys really believe there's not gonna be a better Grimlock in the future? Look at Starscream MP 3.0! You guys don't think they'll fix Cyclonus legs in two years because those knees look like shit right now but it's still a better Cyclonus than we had in POTP and bigger than the Classics one? You're buying stuff over and over, every year believing you finally have a complete set of something... to get hyped all over again for some repaint or retool or even an original mold. You ask yourself "why did they release it in the wrong color?" "why only two in this set of three?" "why the wrong scale?" "why exclusives" and still you buy and buy. That's how a subscription works: NEXT ISSUE: Better stuff! Stay tuned!
They're not rentals because you don't have to return them. And it's not a subscription because it's not all or nothing. Your comparisons are factually incorrect.
I dunno, for me, buying things that look really cool to me, and not buying things that don't, has proven to be a pretty great strategy. Rarely do I buy a toy that I want to get rid of again just a few years later.
Here\'s the list of Studio Series 86 figures I really want Hasbro to make! Perceptor Blaster Snarl Swoop Sludge Blitzwing Insecticons Wreck-Gar Junkyard Scrapheap Kranix
Just gonna say it, but I would love a whole new cast of characters. I love G1, but give me something new. I've already got multiple representations of all these characters, I don't need any of these.
You're welcome to like or dislike G1/the movies, but stop bickering with one another. The line is now giving everyone what they want. The Studio Series line isn't ending just because they're doing G1 characters from the G1 film and because they're doing G1 characters doesn't mean G1 is inherently superior to Bayverse. This is the second thread I'm seeing this exact same argument in and it's getting really old.
