Man, I seriously considered getting the Volcanicus set from Generations Selects because I was getting tired of getting teased about any more be-all end-all Dinobots, but man! That Studio Series 86 Grimlock is very definitely "be-all, end-all" material right there. Like, DAMN! (Although it's a massive bummer he doesn't have his sword. That said, if the whole point was to be authentic to what was seen on the screen and Grimlock only ever had the sword in one, two episodes tops, I can allow it. Hopefully DNA Design or maybe Hasbro themselves muster up an accessory pack that gives Grimlock a sword. Or maybe several swords? I'm a big fan of his Fall of Cybertron sword.)
The sword wasn't even on his model sheet, the sword he had in the cartoon didn't match the toy, and it never appeared in the movie (although, to be fair, neither did his gun.)
They really need to re-release Takara Wheelie... They did release POTP Sharkticon and they're re-releasing TR Headmasters.
It would actually make lots of sense to re-release wheelie in a movie-accurate deco, especially since they brought that size class back.
Oh, that's a killer argument. You sure showed them good. Here, let me try. What's obvious to one isn't obvious to another. The figures have been shown in group photos together. Pictured here. As you can see, the scale of each of them doesn't match up to the Prime Wars versions of each character. Furthermore, I'd like you to point out which parts they allegedly share with the Prime Wars variants.
I can't wait to see Slag and the rest of the dinobots. Can we officially declare 2021 Year of the Beasts?
I really like this collection... If I get these figures I will have to sale my master piece hot rod... I bought that one, a Grimlock 3rd party that is very cartoon accurate and 7 titan returns Sharkticons to make a movie scene with them...✌️
It's not trivial when there's actual money at stake. And it's not a hobby when there's an industry making sure you pay by subscription. We're talking about $200 in this lot alone. For figures we had different versions not a couple years ago. The game has changed, we still hope to get definitive versions of toys, but they're being delivered as rentals and blindly hyped by this stupid community. Like I said, the only safe move is not to play.
Hell, that's the only reason I got the MP Bumblebee Except it didn't. The franchise wasn't in need of saving when the movie came out, in fact the franchise was doing well enough for a filler line to be created simply to fill space before the delayed movie came out (that was the classics line in 2006). But you like to ignore history, there's not point in replying to this comment, I won't see it because I'm done interacting with you They didn't really rerelease the TR Sharkticon though, the released a repaint of it in a limited run $70 exclusive box set. Not exactly the same as a rerelease. Nobody is forcing you to buy anything, these figures aren't rentals, they aren't a subscription and if that's the way you see it then you should probably take your own advice and not "play".
Hell, it might be the Year I Complete My TF Collection...we old-school fans are checking so many important characters off our lists...capped off by Unicron and the Ark, no less. I might be done after next year. I'm kind of looking forward to focusing on other properties.
Another thing: Grimlock's gold parts weren't yellow in the cartoon or the movie. They were colored more subdued with the intention of looking like gold. Having them be super bright and vibrant yellow makes it look really cheap and off.
I mean, I probably would, but there are still four missing spots of my collection that Hasbro still has yet to fill... and no, decade-old deluxes and voyagers that run for $125 on the aftermarket don't count.
