I mean, people who want Scourge and the Sweeps to be identical are going to buy him like an army builder, so the effect on my local shelves is gonna be pretty much the same.

I really regret not getting his evil twin MetroTitan inspired Dystopia!!! Shoulda pulled the trigger when I could.

On top of the underwhelming 'Bot mode for FOC Metroplex, his City mode sucks too. The arms doing a poor job of representing towers is a huge irritation of mine.

 

Having these two in hand, realizing my mind's version of Cyclonus and Scourge isn't the cartoon "increasingly desperate flunkies trying to manage their obviously insane boss" (although I do like that), it's the UK comic "dumbass ambitious underlings who make a play for power but fuck up so badly they resurrect satan and literally rip time apart like a couple of sci-fi Scorsese characters."

 

Guys, I think I need help. I’ve been playing with SS86 Hot Rod since I got him last Friday. I genuinely haven’t put him down if I’m at my desk. I must have transformed him back and forth almost 50 times, and then the tab that holds in his left exhaust in vehicle mode broke because I didn’t notice that there were stress marks there when I unboxed him and so I had no clue that area might break. Help. He’s haunting me. Everywhere I look, I see that huge fin and that blue visor.

 

There are so many worse obsessions to have...at least it's not a crack pipe! Let it consume you! Feel the power of the Matrix!

 

The only 4 other figures I’ve ever transformed and played with this much are Siege Springer, SS38, Studio Series Sideswipe and Studio Series Shockwave. It’s a good problem to have, but I kind of have to focus in e learning lol.

 

I hate transforming Springer...he stresses me out. My favorite until Hot Rod was Seige Sideswipe. Smooth and easy and just cool to me...

I think Selects might be able to make a solid Alpha Trion from Scourge.

True, but I think that we should instill blame on the ones that are army building them instead of just take it for granted like that. Just my opinion.

Because they're buying a short-packed non-army builder to army build with when the army-builder version of the mold is coming.

Well first of all, we don't know if they'll be identical or not. Maybe the only differences are hand poses and/or facial expression. Secondly, since it's taking Scourges away from other people. Hot take, I know, but I consider it more important for all of us(and preferably any kids that want one as well) to get one over those that hog a squadron of them just to have a (presumably) slight bit more accuracy to effectively use them as statues in their displays which they're probably not going to take down and play with. Well, I do hope they can get one too, but not more than that. We can hopefully agree to disagree though.

 

And what if one buys from an online retailer? Also, isn't it just as easy for people to buy an extra Sweep to use as Scourge? Especially if they are as not different as you are saying they might be. The truth is that nobody knows what the Sweep release will look like and there are those that want the Sweeps to be identical to Scourge, like they were in the show. Trying to throw "blame" at people is honestly kind of silly, especially when you are banking on a release that you know nothing about except for the fact it exists.

 

If they're not as different, then it wouldn't matter. But we won't know that till the Sweep is revealed, no?

I'm not "banking" on anything. I'm assuming the null hypothesis. We don't know, but I'm throwing out real consequences for our actions. If we go all-out on army building now, it wouldn't be fair to others.

(and before anyone in the forum pints out that "life isn't fair", I'll point out that I agree, but I believe that we should be trying to achieve more fairness)

If people want to army build Scourge now, they're free to do so. I'm just pointing out that if they care about other collectors, that's a bad idea.
