Hard to come by? really (can't say I keep tabs on pricing for figures)... hmmm ok... (checking).. Holy crap! he's around 100$ to even up to 200$ off Ebay.. DAMMMMMMMNNNN!

I really like mine because I just like him and that they did manage to reproduce a fair amount of the G1 design into him, but also find him horribly cheap as he's so full of gaps, cheap plastic, etc.

I'm fine with him as a Headmaster even if the tank mode isn't that great and these no real place for the head figure aside laying down on the slab.

I would absolutely love to see a better version but he'd need to continue having the same approach for working lens and a tank mode..

Kup - "Oh hey kid, I see Ratchet finished repairing you!"

Hotrod - "Yeah no thanks to you!"
Hotrod - "Seriously what the hell Kup? I thought we were reenacting the scene from the movie! Why'd you let Blitzwing shoot me?"
Kup - "Well there is was on Blitzwing about to bend his tank barrel when he said something!"

    Hotrod - "Said what?"
Kup - "He said, what are you doing? He's holding Daniel! So then I just helped him aim!"

Right you are! He's pretty good, but a little on the floppy side. If we never get a Blaster in this scale, I'll be fine. If we do, I'll probably be replacing him.

I can't stand his face sculpt or his clearly headmaster head that has the combo effect of looking too small and making his body seem jacked, his clear chest and overlarge scope don't do it for me, and I HATE the oversized gun. He's undoubtably the best Perceptor I own (because he's up against G1) but I just can't love him like I do the rest of my '86 shelf (excluding Galvatron!)

Also, maybe it's a trick of the light, but his face is giving me Underworld 1 Bill Nighy (Viktor) vibes. Actually makes me like him a little more.

I'll forever be baffled as to why they didn't paint it from the start, it looks so much better.

Blurr...thanks to an idea (happy accident) from a member here, using the gap at the leg to store the welder tool extension for the hand.

Now, gotta look for the gap fillers for him... :) :) ;) ;)

That's how I've been storing mine too. It fits too perfect to not have been done on purpose I think

It's hardly "too perfect". I just tried it and it doesn't lock in or peg into anything, it's simply held in loosely by some friction. A perfect fit would have it store in a stable manner and not wiggle around the storage area.

It actually fits in just fine under his shield on his back, it securely plugs in.

    Grimlock upgraded!

Arm fillers are not an exact match but still look great.
    20210309_085525.jpg

Also work on legs in dino mode. They stick out a bit but I imagine you can't get them flush due to the hand being flush with the leg.
    20210309_085922.jpg

Teeth upgrade look nice. Though he's missing the lower front tooth which would require a new lower jaw.

Thanks for posting. I think I prefer him with no front teeth if he's just gonna have two at the top. The affect of the teeth placement in themselves look okay though.

Man, that is beautiful. Magnus does look really spiffy in big robot mode, I must say.

His robot mode is definitely a beauty. I know people are mostly put off with his vehicle mode. Transforming him with his gauntlets on his arms does help a bit tho. Not my idea

I've had Grimlock for about 2 weeks now and I'm absolutely in love with him! He's the Grimlock I've wanted for ages! Big, simple, and accurate, it's so great!
I'm not normally one to get bothered by gaps, but those wrists gaps are pretty ghastly, though. Here's to hoping I can find some fillers.
