I agree! I didn't put them all on because I like the less detailed toon aesthetic, but that outlined chest flame is *chef kiss*

The outlined chest detail is what prompted me to buy he set last night. Why Hot Rod's chest emblem is not outlined while Rodimus' is is beyond me.

It shows another relatively cheap difference between the two

And here I was thinking the Toyhax chest sticker looks cheap and tacky with that super thick black line. If it was really thin and subtle I might understand, but it kinda looks like someone drew on him with a marker. :x

Saw one at GameStop, website has him marked down to 28. But they also have a Selects Deep Cover for 19.99 (less than on Pulse, lol). So not sure if I feel like biting.

The Toyhax chest emblem seems to match the deco on Kingdom Rodimus nicely though.

Although I agree the outline should be thinner for sure.

I've finally unboxed Hot Rod and I like it.

It's definitely worthy of being classified as a Voyager because of the complexity of the toy and plethora of accessories.

I do wish it was somewhat bigger so that there would be more durability of plastic by way of allowing for thicker parts. For example, my Hot Rod's right arm slot for alt mode tabbing is stressed due to the thinness of the walls of the slot.

I also think that larger dimensions would improve with parts fitting together in alt mode. My Hot Rod can't fit together perfectly in alt mode, leaving gaps, which seems to be partly due to thinner plastic parts flexing slightly.

One thing that I had to unlearn in order to fully appreciate SS86 Hot Rod is that classes of Transformers toys such as "Voyager" is a price point categorization (with parts count being a factor) rather than specifically a size categorization. Once I looked at SS86 Hot Rod as a toy with complexity of engineering associated with a Voyager class toy, it makes sense to me. I imagine I'll have a similar experience with Kingdom Rodimus Prime when I receive it.

Kingdom Rodimus is all the good of Hot Rod, minus all the bad. Hot Rod is great, but I do agree that the plastic feels thin in a lot of places due to voyager complexity at the deluxe size. Rodimus has a similar transformation complexity, but the plastics feel much thicker and more durable. He's a damn hefty figure. And the two display fantastic together

Somebody gave this to my son for his birthday. I would have called it the greatest deluxe of all time if it was priced that way and didn't have all the extra bullshit he doesn't even play with.

Rumors only it's just a new box insert. No plastic just cardboard and tie downs.

Just got Hot Rod myself (belated Christmas gift to myself using a $25 gift card my dad gave me for the holidays). It IS the repackaged version so for anyone still curious here’s how the new box looks:

    462F1CFF-8934-4FD4-8133-92D9ABEC7C23.jpeg

Other than that the figure itself is 100% the same.

And a comparison with TFCC Side Burn, standing in as Classics Hot Rod since a repaint of that figure
