Here is my full review on Studio Series 75 Jolt.
I can't believe this is the last new mold we will be getting from SS this year.

Starting off with the packaging, it's the typical SS box. The box art looks amazing as this may be the very first accurate CGI model of Jolt we have seen for the past 12 years. Especially with the close up of his head which is very different from all the ROTF concept arts we are so used to seeing.
    20210902_215600.jpg 20210902_215619.jpg 20210902_215633.jpg 20210902_215642.jpg
    20210904_124614.jpg

Now there is 1 issue with the packaging and I really don't understand how this even got approved during production. So we all know Jolt is from ROTF and the box states the backdrop is the pyramid desert battle. HOWEVER, he comes with the DOTM bridge battle as his backdrop but it is labeled with the ROTF logo. Seriously Hasbro? I guess y'all don’t really care for the bayverse figures anymore.
    20210904_124457.jpg

Starting off with the vehicle mode.

It is a licensed Chevy Volt. I must say this vehicle looks super clean and really accurate. Love the silver paint on the front grill and on the side mirrors too. I really like the blue they used and the smoky black plastic they used for the whole roof looks fantastic and it feels pretty sturdy too. I also like how the back of his arms somewhat look like details below the car at the back. The wheels look amazing with plenty of detail and paint all around the rims.

One issue I have is that the vehicle has barely any clearance to roll. It almost touches the ground with less than 1 mm of space. But he can still roll well, more so on surfaces with more friction. Overall the vehicle is really accurate and looks superb.
    20210904_142623.jpg 20210904_142634.jpg 20210904_142642.jpg 20210904_142710.jpg 20210904_142734.jpg 20210904_142902.jpg

    Now onto the transformation.

He's pretty much a complicated shellformer with the whole roof of the car ending up on his back. But I must say his conversion is really unique.

    Pros:
    • Overall still really good engineering and i really like the arm and leg transformation

    • Not overly complicated or simple.
    Cons:
    • Very cluttered and parts constantly clash while transforming from robot to car

    • The tabs on the rear headlights section are very tight and thin as well, high chance of stress marks and breakage over time

    • Can be a challenge to tab everything in place
      20210904_143525.jpg

    For robot mode.

He looks amazing! We finally have a movie accurate Jolt after 12 years. Plenty of details present that we could not see in the film. I really like how the torso looks with all those mechanical details.
    20210904_161915.jpg 20210904_162034.jpg 20210904_162102.jpg 20210904_162429.jpg 20210904_162613.jpg 20210904_162800.jpg
    Pros:
    • Very movie accurate

    • Headsculpt looks fantastic

    • Good colour variation

    • Phenomenal sculpted details all over
    Cons:
    • Thigh kibble can be very annoying in posing and transformation

    • Backpack does not tab in place for me

    • Can be difficult to balance due to lack of ankle pivot and odd shape of feet

    • Arm joints are a little loose
Articulation is decent for a deluxe but kibble does restrict some poses especially the legs. He does have a waist swivel and an ab crunch for transformation. He lacks a thigh swivel but has one right below the knee.

Accessories kinda suck as the whips are solid straight gray plastic and barely any flex to them, making them look more like spears. Weapon storage isn't the best but at least he can store it in robot mode. I do like the weapon integration as his thumbs do get removed and can also be tabbed on the hip skirts. A word of caution as the fingers are really tiny and it's easy to lose.
He can do some great dynamic poses nonetheless.

    Overall thoughts:

Jolt is a decent deluxe. For a character that appeared for less than a minute I think Hasbro did well. There could be some improvements made to robot mode but in general still a solid entry into the SS line. I'd give an 8/10 and would recommend it to any Bayverse fan.

Below are some comparisons and I apologise in advance if my pictures are not bright enough. I'm willing to do more comparisons and take better pictures as long as I have them. I hope my review helps you guys in deciding your purchase!

Man, I can't wait to get mine in hand! He looks fantastic! Like Dino/Mirage before him he reminds me a lot of the old Movie toys from ROTF/HFTD. I got pretty nostalgic from handling Dino/Mirage.

Seems like this guy has the same issue as SS 2007 Megatron’s flail whip, where they both have weapons that are intended to be flexible but molded in a fixed position out of semi-soft plastic. Nothing a few minutes with a hair dryer can’t solve, but it’s a minor annoyance.

Rest of the figure looks pretty decent, a definite pickup if I see it in the wild.

He looks so good in so many different points but I just can't get over that headsculpt. It's screen accurate, I know, but I miss my Shrimp King head :(

They even got the alignment of the bottom messed up. The black is supposed to reach over the edge but here it’s in the middle? Seriously what happened there?

    Just opened up my copy.
I like all the sculpted detail, and articulation is good too. Was surprised that he has waist articulation.
Yeah the hip panels are annoying when you're trying to make a pose, which is my only real gripe with this figure.
    Otherwise I like it.

I can't wait to get this guy. Mine's on Pre-Order >-<. He looks so cool. I do kinda wish they kept the old toy head because I thought it was a cute head.

Thanks for the review @The Diam0ndknyt3 the figure looks really fun but the distribution is making the whole thing very frustrating. Hasbro really did drop bayverse like a hot potato this year. Although we got years of great stuff, they were SO close to the finish line with only like 10 more must-have releases. Still really excited to get this figure though. It’s an awesome design with a much more practical alt mode that was criminally underused.

Yeah first thing I’m gonna do to this guy is the same thing I did with megatron: bend them with a hair dryer then spray them silver.

Inb4 DNA Design releases a set of flexible electro-whips for him, or you were fortunate enough to get Jolt from the Takara AOE toyline and using his electro-whips instead

This guy looks really good but I dunno, I just can't bring myself to get excited about him. I might pick him up at some stage but honestly if I end up missing out I don't think I'm gonna be too upset

I don't know what you're all into bending the whips for-- the straight whips is what caught my attention.

If you want real articulated whips you're better off finding a segmented one. There's nothing more disappointing when posing a figure with a plastic chain that droops no matter what pose you put it in (which is why I would think twice about attaching something to a real chain).

A real whip is almost never straight. You can do way more poses with something that’s bent and dynamic looking. These things look like chopsticks.

Really excited for this one. I've been kinda out of the collecting game recently since nothing has interested me enough, but for Jolt? I'm in. I loved the ROTF figure, so it'll be nice to finally get another Jolt. Looks like a fun figure!

If anyone has the original ROTF figure, I wouldn't mind seeing a comparison shot. Thanks in advance :)

Does his chest (at the "ab crunch" joint) just not tab in? Friction / weight keeps it down but it's easy to move it.

Also, his backpack does tab in for me, but it's one of those "fit isn't quite right so it'll pop out now and then" kind of connections.

Hip panels are really annoying and limit what the figure can do. They really should have incorporated those into the backpack.

Only 2 things I don't like about him: the hip kibble and no ankle tilts. Other than that, pretty solid figure.

Yea I really don't like those lackluster whips. The thigh panels are removable right?

They are, but I have nasty stress marks on the sockets on his thighs that house the ball joints of the panels, so I'm not risking it.

This guy really needs some more blue paint to shine, especially on the head:

Don't need that pic anymore. I got him. And I... forget how small Deluxes are nowadays.

Anyway, he's pretty cool. The hip kibble is there, but surprisingly doesn't bother me too much. Ankle tilts, however... He could've used those.
Overall I like him. Not much to say. Cool lookin' robot dude.
