Per request and copied over from Movie thread: Mini-Review / Impressions of SS-60 Scrapper: Note: Lots of sunlight at time of pics, so this makes the bare yellow plastic look pale in pics compared to the painted yellow areas in real life. Scrapper is now my son's favorite Constructicon overall. His alt mode is just slightly smaller than CW/UW Scrapper. The bucket has one point of articulation and has significantly less range of motion compared to UW/CW Scrapper. I was surprised to see HasTak actually use gap fillers, although just a few: the gray panels near the base of the bucket arms. This is how high the bucket can go. There is robot kibble visible in alt mode but is more tolerable compared to other bots. All the wheels are pinned and move easily. For the back double wheels, the inner ones don't move and have other parts tabbed into them. The outer wheels freely move. The bucket can open. There are 2 blast effects ports (5mm) near the cab. The smaller hole on the cab (3mm) is for a flight stand in bot mode. Side / rear view. Just showing 5mm and 3mm parts plugged into the ports. The figure itself does not come with any accessories. Has a more humanoid form. The exhaust port is also blast effects compatible. The claw hand does not open. The blade hand hooks are adjustable but open up the flat panel before adjusting to avoid scuffing paint. Articulation is great. Plenty of joints throughout for posing, including the head. Knee forward rotation is limited by design. Another view. Again, the sunlight is making the plastic look more dull in pics compared to the painted yellow parts in real life. Rear view. No ankle tilt unlike Long Haul and also no waist rotation, however...he has crotch articulation, which helps with posing and to make up for these issues. This shows the crotch opened up with his, uh, "codpiece" down. This is with his codpiece up: This is with his crotch closed and codpiece down: Hand mode per the instructions: 7/8 Constructicons: This is just comparing various Scrappers: SDCC CW, SS, and G2. SS Scrapper is just a little smaller than CW Scrapper in both modes. Alt modes: Bot modes: Pros: Fun figure, good looking bot and alt modes, good articulation (including surprisingly the crotch area), medium complexity transformations, relatively clean kibble in bot mode especially, blast effects ports Cons: No accessories, no ankle tilt, no waist rotation, limited bucket movement, more prominent bot mode kibble in alt mode
Nice, I have one pre ordered on Pulse. I think Scrapper will be my favorite of the 8. He is my favorite movie constructicon design. Glad he is finally getting a toy that isn’t legends class.
Nice thorough review. I really wish I could have him and sentinel right now since quarantine is booooring I think Scrapper has the potential to be one of the best constructicons on his own so I'm excited to have him not just as an arm!
I treated myself and paid Ebay prices to get him and Sentinel (and Mixmaster) in a 3pack (as being sold by the seller) In the end, it really wasnt THAT much more...so I thougut why not, I need some new toys to keep busy. I'll throw Mixmaster up for sale $20 bucks or something when they arrive on Friday.
Haha I did the same thing! I wonder why they were selling them with mixy. Is he repacked in the case with the other two maybe?
LOL! Why not, right? Yeah I'd imagine so, unless the seller is trying to clear out extra mixmasters or something.
I hope Target will start filling the preorders on this guy and Sentinel soon. I could use some new plastic crack after weeks shut inside.
Target's pre-order says it'll be fulfilled the first week of May. I'm cool with that since Scrapper only cost me $20 using their BOGO1/2 sale a while back. Still, if I see it in the store before then I may grab it. The figure looks good enough to own two.
Can somebody give me the sku number off the bottom of the box for studio series scrapper? Im trying to find him at my local stores
I should be getting mine today! I'm gonna cancel my amazon preorder. Unless....it now says unavailable, should I keep the preorder just in case this becomes scarce? I could help some people here trying to get it...
I don’t normally like box pics but I’m just sooo excited I finally got these two! Sentinel takes priority but scrapper looks like a nicely sized freaking fun figure!
Just opened him this morning but he's awesome! Very posable and versatile despite not having real "weapons" or "hands". He's really well balanced too, as you can see from my second pic (he is standing solidly in light wind with no assistance!).
