This is a Review for Studio Series 54 Voyager 2007 Megatron.

The Figure itself, I think is a very good sculpt. I think it's a very good replica of Megatron himself. I especially love the silver paint. I think they captured every single detail compared to the movie, especially replicating it to the MPM version.

One accessory, The Mace. Solid piece of plastic. I was afraid of bending it. Sticks in arm quite well.

Also comes with background. Just the same one as Brawl, Ironhide, Ratchet, etc from 2007 cast.

When I first saw the promo pictures, I thought the legs would be a bit boxy like Studio Series DOTM Megatron. It's actually not bad.

Jet mode itself. It was a little hard to attach every piece so it would stay right. I wouldn't say I'm not a fan of the Jet, But it's still pretty good. May just transform him a little while.

Size comparison. I was told back then he was slightly shorter than Blackout. They really captured the sizes with Studio Series.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this figure. Complete your 2007 lineup. 9.5 out of 10.

Any questions or pic requests, feel free to ask. (But only if I have the Equipment)

Damn, so he is indeed shorter than ROTF Megatron. That sucks. Great review and figure regardless. I should be getting mine in today, I’ll post my thoughts here as well

This is the first Studio Series figure with ankle tilt, correct?

There's always a risk of recency bias with new toys, but this is one of the best Voyager figures we've gotten in this line. Given that I'm not particularly a fan of the 2007 design, that I like him so much I might even call him a triumph. Everything is coated in silver paint, and all the joints barring the wrists and the tips of the under wing struts are pinned. The quality here reminds me of the TLJ Megatron, where it feels like you could throw a brick at him and he'd be fine.

Alt modes is a bit gappy, and from certain angles you can tell it's just a humanoid doing a faceplant, but that on Bay and the design team, really, so not a knock against the toy. Hasbro worked with what they had.

There's very little hollowness in robot mode, just the insides of his forearms, where the hands flip in, and the insides of his thighs. Everything else is filled up with stuff. The much-decried hollow torso of the ROTF version is filled in by the nose cone.

I don't even mind that the chest is a reuse of the ROTF mold. As I mentioned, I wasn't much for the 2007 design anyway, so this change only improves his look, IMO.

The system of slots and tabs for alt mode is an odd one. Once you get everything in place, he holds like a rock, but if you skip anything it all comes untabbed. The first time I transformed him I missed that the heel spurs tab into pegs on the robot back/jet top, and those are critical to keeping everything together. Without them, the half-tabs on the shins and the single shallow tab inside the tail fin won't hold together.

My only complaints are that the knee joints are so far back that bending his legs can make his shins look super long and boxy. I also wish the shoulder transformation swivel pegged in somehow; they rely entirely on friction, and while the right swivel is tightenough to stay in place for most posing, the left swings out of position if I look at it funny.

Is he perfect? Not quite, but he gets damn close. Highly recommend. He is absolutely worth the $30 price. It's nice to feel like Hasbro is listening to the fans and adult collectors and giving us well built toys with lots of paint and great articulation.

    Buy on sight.

    Kick ass review as always.

This is just incredible looking to me. I adore the ROTF mold. I dont mind it sharing the chest, because on the shelf it will show the evolution of movie megatron just fine.

Studio is probably my most fav TF line since being a kid with G1. THIS is the line I want to buy..these are the figure I want..they are making figures based on movie models that match both modes..

Best time to be a TF collector.

    Great review.

This looks great. Have him on pre order. Love the colors and he has a cool altmode. This could be the best studio megs.

Totally agree. Between this and siege its a great time to be a fan.

I don't even collect SS, but this is tempting. So glad this design has gotten a mainline toy that does it justice.

I'm pretty sure the Optimus mold has at least a slight one, and so does Jetfire. As does VW Bumblebee

The last pic of Laserwave's review. The one where the 5 Decepticons kneel before Megatron.
