I'm deciding on how much I want to paint the truck mode for my BB Prime. I've done some panel lining and I'll give him some silver detail, but I'm not sure how much I want to do ink washes and stuff. He was never really dirty in the movie and Evasion Prime's already got the whole dirty box-truck thing covered. For now I'm putting most of my effort into the bot mode paint. Honestly the paint in general on Studio Series has gotten a lot better since last year. Makes me very happy! He and Rampage are very well painted for a main line figure. I don't think I'll be adding anything to Rampage, and BB Prime looks great as is even though I'm having a blast painting him.

I think I'll do the same once I have one. Kind of surprised he doesn't have any symbols otherwise.

Special preview of my custom paint since we’re talking added Autobot symbols:

I’ve loved painting this figure so much and he’s so good I’m thinking I might sell this one and get another one to repaint for myself!

Out of curiosity, what would you sell it for?
Looking forward to seeing a final product!

Well I paid $45 to get him early soooo, more than that? It’s taken a few hours to get him painted up like he’s supposed to be so there’s the labor too... I’m bad at stuff like this.

Had him for a little over a week. He’s not without his downfalls: shoulder panels you constantly have to re-adjust, shin panels that don’t lock in great, and a head platform that probably should’ve been pinned in rather than held by friction.

He’s still one of my favorite Studio Series figures. Neverending sculpt detail, solid articulation, one of the most accurate first-time designs any Movie Optimus has ever received and shelf presence that makes him seem bigger than he actually is. Every time I see him wish I had a battlefield to rumble him through (instead, he’s patrolling a bathroom sink). Just a couple of quality/design tweaks here and there and he’d be perfection, but for me he sits solidly at “damn good”.:thumb :thumb

This is a great toy. Though at one time I was open to him getting a simple upscale bit after having it in hand I would rather it be modified than simply enlarged.

That and I would prefer his alt mode redone to be a Freightliner over the Marmon it currently is.

Shoulder bits are only a minor thing for sure. I've had no issues with his legs, but his damn head is quite annoying, when going from alt to bot it falls everytime. Still he's a fantastic figure.
