Seems that might be a common problem. That happened to me as well right out of the packaging. I was able to return it and get a new copy which didn't have the issue.

Mine came with two left heels which screws up the right jet turbine forming.

Also came with a smaller off tab on the shoulder wing as well as a poorly assembled cane. Just missed my Amazon return date: (. Need to find another copy.

Just got Jetfire today thanks to my local Target doing a restock on leaders and holy moly is he cool! His pegs on the front of the jet mode are definitely weird and i shaved off a little to see if it works out. Also did the armor up mode for Prime and its so rad! His hips are super weak in combined mode sadly so i may take prime apart to add some floor polish.

Jetfire himself has a ton of articulation and is super fun to pose in fist shaking poses to scare off those youngins. Ive gotta take some photos with him Kup, and ratchet soon so that all the old boys hang out with each haha.

No it looks like you didn't get the back to tab into the folded cockpit parts. So he shouldn't be a hunched as you have him

I've only had mine for around a month, so he's still relatively new in some areas. After getting mine, I've seen him around, mostly in Targets. Maybe check there if you can.

Same thing also happened to me. I tried using MEK based cement to bond it (luckily it doesn't work on whatever plastic the center arm is so you don't have to worry about it fusing) but it just cracked again.

Then I filled in the gap in the hinge where it cracked with a few layers of ABS scrap and cemented it again, as well as covering the outside wall of the hinge (on both sides for symmetry) with some ABS sheet. It's been holding well with that repair job, even if it leaves some things very slightly crooked.

I swear one of these days I'm just going to mail their PR department a box full of figures lost to/damaged by that awful, awful hinge design, and MP-13 is going to be right on top of that pile. Using the elasticity of the plastic as a ratchet spring is terrible design and wrecks figures, especially as they get older.

Jetfire seems to have brittle plastic. I didn't have the spine cracked but my first copy came with a broken off tab on the shoulder panel and my second came with a black panel on the leg cracked. Was able to switch the leg from the other since it disassembles to combine with prime.

I’m thinking of picking but is there anyway to avoid the above issue?

May I know if I see the heels through the box?

One side has a tiny edge that sticks out on the side of the heel. Need to make sure that sticks out to the proper side on both.

PIcked this guy up tonight, the robot mode is pretty cool looking, pretty screen accurate, though I think the walking cane is too short. Alt mode, like most complicated Transformers lately, it sufferes from lack of any real pegs to hold the wings and rear end together. It looks ok in jet mode, but gappy and pretty floppy if you're not careful.

Havn't tried combining him with Prime yet, looking forward to seeing how that all looks

You must not have found all the pegs and tabs, because the jet mode is pretty danged solid once it's all together.
