Did a search and didn't see a thread for this.

This is a huge improvement over the first one, and I liked the first one. He just looks so much closer to the CG model and he's a bit taller, too.

He looks great with the rest of the 2007 Autobots.

The swords from the original can be used as well.
truck.jpg Truck mode is pretty good, though it has a weird gap under the doors with robot bits visible. Transformation is a bit more complex than the first version. Colors look great, even has the rims painted. The short smokestacks is the only thing that doesn't look all that great to me.

Overall, I love it. Looks great and has tighter joints than the first release, which was a bit floppy (or at least my copy was that way).

Not looking forward to having to put long stacks on this one, too.

He looks wonderful but the leg bits, his sides, and the smoke stacks keep him from true greatness. But it is nice they got the backpack looking accurate but... I dunno. I guess after 12 years of movie Optimus Prime toys there's just no way to give him perfect legs, chest, and back outside of a MPM toy.

Anyway, how does he look next to everyone's favorite movie Prime, battle blades Optimus Prime?

I don't have that Prime anymore, I never really cared much for that figure.

What makes him taller than the previous SS05 version? Are the legs longer or something?

He looks really damn good, like a mini-MPM. I still think Battle Blades has the best truck mode, but this is easily the best robot mode of the Voyager Bay Primes.

Hope there's a 2007 Megs for him to duel with sooner than later.

Looks like the brighter colors match up better with the rest of the 2007 crew.

I'm not sure why, but I have trouble with the transformation on mine. The front end resists holding together, and the rear wheels don't sit flat on mine, with the middle wheels held off of the ground.

I struggled to get everything lined up too, but started over from the beginning and eventually got it all worked out. We just have to accept that these newer figures require more time and far more care to make them work properly.

Such as shame this wasn't made in years past, we would have gotten an accurate deco, long rubberised smokestacks, and pinned wheels. Unless the former is rectified in a future release (unlikely seeing how Takara barely do any premium releases now) I can't quite justify owning this over the AOE Battle Blades Prime.

Which is what makes it stranger, since everything I buy gets flipped back and forth multiple times. But still, it won't quite sit flat.

Hm, I've transformed mine to truck mode 4 times now and everything lines up perfectly with mine. Maybe it just takes some practice.

He means the AoE evasion mode prime or the original battle blades prime.

Or it could be some repainted battle blades prime that I'm not aware of.

Battle Blades Prime got a redeco in the Movie Advance line in 2014, I guess it's that.

Ohhh i remember that. Way too glossy and shiny. I like the battle blades prime mold, its basically downside of the rotf leader, but it def wasnt as poseable as id like. The new SS 35 is def the definitive first trilogy movie prime.

IDK, I get that the flat primary colors are more accurate as is the chest but for now, I’m still liking the OG SS mold. Those rich metallic colors just feel more premium to me.

One of the areas where I really do prefer this mold is the backpack. Otherwise Im happy to stick with the first OP.

I recall having a similar time with the first version of this mold, specifically the front end... it was the fists not being tucked away fully.

    Could it be this?
