And we are going deeper into the Studio Series line and... It's the 3rd version of the 1977 Camaro Bee figure! The Box is a bit bigger this time around as it contains Bee, Charlie, a pair of side skirts, 2 different Spoilers and Hood attachments, a front skirt/bumper piece, the very nice looking backdrop, your obligatory instruction sheet and a decal sheet with 2 different styles.

Now, this is the exact same figure as SS-01 Bumblebee, but as it is without the decals on him, He is as stock looking as he can be.. No Race Stripes. Even the silver on his feet is gone. But he gets a yellow paint app on his hands. Joint quality is same as my SS-01 that I parted ways with already, nothing floppy. Transformation is exactly the same and I am glad to report and I definitely EMPHASIZE on this that the one rage inducing issue I had with SS-01, that dreaded Windshield and roof issue is a thing of the past now whooooooo! So Quality wise, I have no qualms at all!


Car mode without all the extra attachments, really looking very stock. But the extra parts now comes into play, you can make different looks for the Camaro now, you get 2 different Spoilers and 2 Different Hood attachments you can mix and match with, now the front and side skirts, you only get one of the former and 1 pair of the latter, wished it came with 2 different ones too to add more to the mix and match customization of your Bumblebee alt mode. You can still use those extra parts too on your SS-01 if you are so inclined since they are the exact same figure.

Also to note.... The only custom piece Bee can still wear on bot mode is the hood attachment.



Also, Charlie mini figure, is just a static mini fig, no poseability at all, but I like it though that they add a human character to scale with your Bumblebee! She is wearing a black shirt with the Bumblebee logo! Cool!

Soon enough, this would be more widely available.
My story how I got this in hand as of this writing is on the California Sightings thread and on News abd Rumors threads.

I am happy to acquire this set, I parted ways with my SS-01 due to the bad qc lemon I got, saw this set being teased at one of those posters that showed all the Studio Series figures, thought this is maybe my next chance to get 1977 Camaro Bee, it was a surprise to me that he came with extra car parts! And with the more solid qc this time, this set just put a smile on me after the bitter breakup with my SS-01.

I recommend if you like custom options, Bumblebee accompanied by a female minifig, and just a cool set overall.

Still debating on which stickers to use.

 

Oh well... When I went to checkout at my Local Target (see California Sightings Thread) it wasnt in their system at all... Nor they cant find in their website.. So the employee called a Supe and then priced it at 10 bucks, and no DPCI number attached to it yet.. Like those 999-99-9999 categories they have.

To me it is still a considerable upgrade too im a fan of toys that can have one or two different looks based on your preferences... And my bitter relationship with ss-01.

And @Yaujta yeah the only parts that you dont have to remove in robot mode would be those hood attachments.. The Spoilers or the Side fenders or that bumper piece has to be taken off.

 

Sweet. I think I may get this for the car mode upgrades and stuff. Nice review man and glad to hear this won't be a rage inducing toy for me later.

 

Time for me to FINALLY get my hands on this version of the BeaterBee. Damn stickers? Guess I’m gonna have to paint the stripes myself...

This looks very nice. The stock look is actually rather pleasing, for reasons I am trying to pinpoint. Body modifications are unexpected and a good touch which raises the toy's value. Pretty gaga over the human mini figure. Really didn't expect to see a human figure for a long time in Transformers before the leak, and have always been a fan of them. Want to see some in Generations, preferably a bit larger and more articulated. But Charlie here doesn't look like a bad fit, a bit toon like which is what I would like to see in other toylines.

Going to have to scratch up some money and investigate the nearest Target. Hopefully I will have good luck, for this thing is a must.

 

The Hood and Windshield thing... Uhmm... It just maybe had more bite to it than SS-01. And No I don't have any HA figs or the TF Prime Kids to comapre with sadly...

Well... We may do better than Hasbro in applying stickers hah!

 

I'll be excited to see some of the customs that come out of this.
