Hello all Once I had got over the dissapointment of the studio 86 bumblebee not having thicker limbs proportions and smaller feet to create the exact cartoon silhouette, I really started to appreciate the toy for what it does do well but some other things started to bother me as it seemed to have too much of a proportion of black to yellow so I decided to get my brushes out to readdress the balance here and I'm pretty pleased with the results as its probably as good as you are going to get for the budget and the realities of what can be done from an engineering point of view. If anyone else is considering have a go before you even open your paints or attempt to apply blue pigment to the windows in any other way like stickers, you might want to save yourself some time, stress and paint by first getting some needle files to sand down the areas where paint will be scratched off during transformation. The main area is that rectangle at the bottom of the front windshield.
Yeah, the old Airachnid custom was my first proper custom and when I had to have a clear out of stuff about a year ago due to having to move flats, my transformers collection was one of the things I had decided to downsize on as my interest was at its lowest, but I didn't have the heart to sell or chuck her.
Thanks and believe it or not but she does have a helicopter and sort of drill mode. It's probably not the best of transformations as it's very parts-former and of course the legs don't become the helicopter blades like they should but the thought was there
