Yeah, chances are I'll never beat this game without some sort of save system. It's a shame, because it's fun.

I am not good at this game, but the game itself is.

Same. Well, I have yet to try it but I'm not exactly good at Mega Man games. :lol  I still love them though.

There are people who are not good at Megaman games? It's like the universal training for platform gaming.

Well...there IS the fact that I suck ass at platformers in general. :lol

I just finished messing around with this game for tonight. I managed to beat everybody but Dhalsim and C.Viper. I found Blanka and Chun-Li is easiest to Buster only so when I try again tomorrow I'll start with one of them. I'm trying to save my E Tanks for whatever comes after the first eight stages. I've found four so far. The stages themselves really aren't that difficult so far. It's the SF characters that wreck me. Much like Mega Man 1 for me.

I'm finding this really fun even with my extreme difficulties with taking down Dhalsim and C.Viper. I find them fun enough that I don't get frustrated and it's nice of Viper to put a life in her stage. :p  I felt really stupid when I figured out how to use the elevators. I didn't really think to try pressing up and down so I hopped on them to make them move. I'm not sure why I made that mistake...

A part of me is disappointed with how easy the levels are but another part of me is relieved since there's no save system of any kind. XD But I also haven't gotten past the first eight stages. :shakefist

Is "relieved" spelled correctly? It looks wrong but MSWord says it's right...

Got it this evening...love it! It seriously needs a save function. I wrecked Chun-Li, Rolento, and Rose pretty easily, but Urien destroyed me in a matter of seconds. The game is awesomely fun, but Capcom REALLY has no idea how to do Anniversary release anymore. MML3 and Universe should have been out by now, and to depend on a fan-mod to be their primary Anniversary release material is an embarrassment to them as it was said before.

Haven't been able to beat it yet myself, mostly cuz lack of save combined with lack of time. Also cuz
    Vega
cheats hardcore. All I need to beat him is an E-tank, but of course I didn't have one :lol .

I'll beat it soon enough, though. Already have the stages down, more or less (though they aren't too difficult), and can beat Chun-Li, Viper, Rose, and Blanka without much trouble. Haven't gotten to the others for a second time yet, as I had to turn off the game to go to work (seriously, save option please?)

Well, I'm decent enough, but the problem is with how long the game theoretically is. I typically save and quit games after an hour or so because I've become mentally exhausted. I also hate having to start from the beginning every time I turn a game on and being forced to rehash old battles.

    *not an 80's child, obviously*

Yeah, it does kinda suck. But on the plus side, beating the first eight stages only took me 40 minutes after I learned them. I went, "oh man! I'm gonna see if I can actually beat C.Viper and Dhalsim with their weaknesses. Look at that! I totally did!" and then I kept playing until I got to the boss rush. In total getting there only took me an hour or so, and I quit because I'll hopefully be going to bed soon.

I boss rush is giving me some bad Mega Man 1 memories in it not giving me anything to heal with between battles. It's a good thing I've been stockpiling E-Tanks. :lol  I got some weird glitch ones actually. They were where there shouldn't be one. I went back to double check in Viper's stage to see if it was actually a glitch. The "Glitch-Tanks" made up for the ones I skipped in my not thinking I'll do well.

I really enojoyed "Bison-1" it was a pretty fun experience and totally went against how I normally play. I'm usually super cautious. "Bison-2" annoyed me though. The boss of it was also pretty tough. I think I got him figured out though...

EDIT: Imma write down my boss order incase I forget:
Blanka- Rose- Rolento- Urien- Ryu- Chun-Li- C.Viper- Dhalsim

OR Start at Chun-Li since she's super easy to beat.

EDIT 2: Hey, check-it! There's an FAQ for this already. It lists the boss weaknesses and some neat codes you can enter: http://www.capcom-unity.com/mega_man/go/thread/view/7461/29541121/mini-sfxmm-faq

    Wait until you face
    Akuma

To reach him you must beat at least 4 regular stages with a perfect (you can get hit, just make sure that you have full health when you get the last hit on the boss for the stage)

I'm not sure if it's worth using up the E. Tanks in the normal stages just to face Akuma, because Vega will tear me a new asshole...

What controllers are you using? I use a wired Afterglow controller for it because none of my Sony brand ones work (or I don't know how to get them to work, lol).

I've tried my 360 controller, my PS3 Afterglow, and my PS3 Fighter controller... None of them work. I'm to the point of trying my arcade sticks.

Yeah, a number of people are reporting issues. There's a thread on Capcom Unity with various solutions you can try. Controller Fix-me do apparently This page has a video and the next page has a nicely written tutorial with pictures.

My old Logitech dual action controller worked without any issues but I think it may be five to seven years old...
