That's not really an issue these days.

8-bit Megaman, free, count me in. I hope he has his slide back. I missed it in 9 & 10.

think pc pads have been around almost as long as console ones...spend $10 on a pad, get a free game.

pretty nice xmas present from capcom though. I'd probably be buying this for $10 even if it wasn't free. looks fun.

As a free fan made game it's fine. But, as Capcom's big Mega Man 25th Anniversary celebration, it's a bit of an embarrassment. At this point, they clearly have no clue on how to approach the franchise anymore. they milked the 8-bit part, and that's all they could muster. There are so many better ways to celebrate the franchise.

I would have preferred 16 bit graphics.

You can even get Sega Saturn, NES, Super Nintendo and Neo Geo controllers using USB and in addition there is a variety of adapters for most controllers out there.

You can even get a shit load of crappy pc controllers.

Do you think the series really is dead, or do you think it'll ever make a comeback?

While I'm enthusiastic towards this game's release, I agree. Still, I'll take what Mega Man I can get as long as it isn't dog shit.

The 8-bit resurgence is pretty worn out now, I agree. Classic Mega Man even more so. As unlikely as it is, if we can't get an X revival, we should at least get a new Mega Man in a new universe to freshen things up.

It's too profitable to ever be dead. It's just that Capcom's current leadership has no grasp on how to actually revive the franchise in a meaningful way. Mega Ma x Street Fighter just feels like a cop out to me. If they want to celebrate the franchise without putting out a new game, there are plenty of ways to do that.

Put out a new compilation disc, include all of the console 2D Mega Man and Mega Man X games, include the Megadrive release of The Wiley Wars (Mega Man 1-3 which was updated with 16-bit audio and visuals), include the arcade games, include the Japanese PS1 versions, include the recent download only titles and call it a day. If they want to put actual effort into it, include a season of one of the animated series. Include interviews, concept art, a box art gallery, comics and have a toy/statue come with the box set.

Hopefully for the 30th. As it stands now, I'll be happy to have anything Megaman. I seriously wish though, CoA (maybe even CoE) had more say in these matters.

Great little gift to SF and MM fans but it is a little gift. I'm looking forward to playing it although a console release would've been preferred. A better 25th anniversary gift for SF fans would've been new stages for SF4 or even a surprise new character or two but I guess that's just asking for too much.

I'll take old school Megaman over the new ones anytime.

As for a 25th anniversary gift, I'll take this one over what I got out of the Mario's.

I'm pretty excited to pick this up tomorrow. I wonder if it'll work with my controller "out of the box" or if I'll need to download Joy2Key or whatever.

Ah crap, it just occured to me that my laptop is running Windows VISTA I hope that I don't need Windows 7 or whatever the latest one is. If so, then I won't be able to play for quite some time and I run the risk of my computer crashing before I can save. Or even worse, while it's saving like it did with my one picture I spent an hour on. D:

The funny thing is that without this fan we never would've gotten anything. He's the sole reason we are getting anything at all and not Capcom. They didn't plan on giving fans anything at all so I for one am not thanking them. I'm sure if it were up to them we would've gotten jack shit so thank you very much Mr.Seow Zong Hui, you are a very talented man.

Downloaded it when it went live at 3, and started playing. Then I found out there isn't a save function (that I am aware of), so now I'm playing through the whole thing. Beat Chun Li and pretty damn good so far.

I don't think it uses any kind of save system...
