I was looking at my Stormshot yesterday and noticed how much his chest reminds me of the combiner wars deluxe chests... like with the combiner port. Has anyone else thought that? Just an interesting little thing I saw.
He's definitely got them nice, blocky pecs, and I can kind of see a combiner peg in his painted black abs.
Eh, I think he was designed in a similar fashion to the Aerialbots just because he's yet another jet. And because he's a Warrior figure they based him on figures closer to his size, enter CW Superion Deluxes. The similar silhouette must be a side effect.
I have a kinda odd headcanon concerning Stormshot and his wavemate Blastwave. Blastwave is a Bludgeon fanboy. He's watched numerous recordings of Bludgeon's battles and has tried to mimic the skeleton's fighting style and mannerisms (but with no one around to actually teach him metallikato, he's mostly just flailing about like an idiot) Stormshot is the very embodiment of "America, Fuck Yeah". He loves himself some guns, freedom, bbq, and Jeff Foxworthy. Autobot high command has paired these two together in hopes that one will balance out the shortcomings of the other. Hilarity ensues.
Not a damn thing. Did I frame it as such? I'm actually a big fan of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. (I just can't stand Larry the Cable Guy, but then I grew up in a southern texas town that constantly quoted him)
I see Stormshot embodied as a toy designer going "What do you mean there are no more Combiner Wars Aerialbot mold slots left? I just got this great idea for handling the wings! Oh well... say are there any free spots available in the RID line? No reason, just wondering."
