Yep very good. Always nice to see slow transformations because I know just how much work goes into all the extra frames

Can't wait to get a decent MP Perceptor. My original FT one (was it called Tesla?) suffered from cracked plastic around the arm joints.

And while I'm here, let me say I am finally almost done with the latest ReAnimated vid! Been a long time coming (covid etc), but there will be an extended Patreon version and a shorter YouTube cut (although even the short one is still longer then most of my others!).

I’ve made a few more stop motions in the past month

Optimus throwing his head (meme format)

Grimlock the con slayer (turn on volume)

    Megatron resurrects a dead army

I wish I had more Likes I could give you since only 2 is not enough (I gave you likes in the Masterpiece thread as well). This is beyond words on how great it is.

I've made 2 (admittedly crappy) gifs that I've put on this site...

Would anyone happen to have any tips for me on how I can improve?

    Nice!

That figure has his faults (gappy back and partsforming hands), but I reckon he still holds up pretty well aesthetically.

What I love best about your stuff are the subtle things. The little tricks and sleight of hand you do to make these work so well. In this one for example I see that his hands raise just out of frame so that you don’t have to see the fists disappear during transformation. Love it!

Thanks! Same to all of you. Appropriately it was my dad who bought my G1 Prime (the very one seen here). It was a Christmas present and my parents had left it til the last minute (I'd been saying I wanted him for months but I guess they thought I might change my mind). Everywhere was sold out and Dad had to go searching every toy shop for miles around, but somehow he found one!

A lot of people have asked over the years, so there are a lot of helpful suggestions in this thread already - mainly basic stuff like fix the camera down and keep the lighting constant. But a good place to start is to look at what you've already done objectively and ask yourself: what doesn't work and why? What could be better? What do you want to acheive?
This was the first time I had handled him in 30-odd years, and it was an absolute joy to rediscover that simple yet clever transformation. The chest windows are the cab windows! The grill is the grill! No messin' just chonk-chonk-done! Sublime.
Thanks, but for this I was just following the toon action where Prime lifts his arms prior to transforming! I could have done some of my usual Photoshoppery magic to make the hands slide into the wrists or something but that just didn't seem to be necessary here.

But there's 182 pages! I don't have time to read all that!

Basically, I know how to take pics with my camera, and how to use a GIF making site. That's it.

I didn't use a tripod in the first one that I made. In the second I did because the results were inconsistent in the first.

So I'll need a lamp of some kind, and I'd prefer a better background. Aside from that...I don't know enough to know what else doesn't work.

I did the first one just to see if I could do it.

    Thanks for the advice!

Yeah a fixed camera and lamp can work wonders. Depending on what sort of animation you want to make you might also want to use something like BluTack to help figures stay in position while you're working. Also helps a lot to be able to compare the image in the camera to the frame/s you previously took.

What's that you say, it's Prime Day? Oh, ok have this then...

This is a sequence from near the end of MTMTE part 3, which showed up in the end credits of season 1. I originally animated the same shot with MP-10 many years ago, and had been using that version in the credits of my ReAnimated videos ever since. For Bad Day at Blackrock I remade it with MP-44, since that newer MP features heavily in the vid.
