I bet you ask all the girls that!
Megatron made working on the oil rig a tankless job...
Very nice. The grainy footage adds to the atmosphere.
Obviously his footsteps produce...shockwaves...I'll get me coat.
Rolling at 22 FPS.
As Prime Noble says, there's a lovely atmosphere to those last few gifs of yours. I really like the gritty feel you give them. Walking on sand (?) etc. Obviously there's a filter so it's hard to tell but have you specially weathered the poor extra who gets stepped on/falls into Shockwave's path?
Sorry I've a compulsion to reflexively make bad puns. It's almost Tourettes Syndrome or in Warpath's case, Turret Syndrome.
To quote G1 Detour, "Brain in neutral, mouth in drive!"
On a serious note, would you ever consider recreating scenes from Japanese G1? I always liked the battle between the Clones. Though if you did, I would implore you to use some of the American G1 background music instead of the grating Japanese tunes. I swear you could use that stuff for an exorcism.
Ha ha, I like a good pun myself!
I did Star Saber's transformation sequence from Victory (Patreon exclusive vid) but I'm afraid much of Japanese G1 leaves me cold. I may do the odd gif here and there, but another problem is the awful PQ of the episodes, which makes using the backgrounds etc hard work. And yeah the audio is not ideal.
Just curious, is there any particular reason you're not a fan, beyond the quality issues you mentioned?
Thanks, I'm trying to get a Livio IDW feel.
Aye, good eye, I made a couple of dead bots for my dioramas
The sand is a bit messy to deal with, but it's perfect for hiding support's and effects like leds
I guess my love of G1 is largely down to nostalgia and the fact that I was so engrossed by it as a kid. Versions of the franchise that came later never seemed to hold a candle to 'my' Transformers. And of course back then I had no idea a Japanese series even existed, and it was another decade or two until I finally got the DVDs and saw the shows for the first time. I do wish that Sunbow in the 80s had taken those eps and 'Westernised' them somehow (music, voices, structure) because I'm sure I would have enjoyed seeing late-era G1 toys in toon form, but as it stands I'm afraid I find most of it a chore to watch.
That's great, it adds another level to your scenes! Have you done any still photos with these set ups? I bet they would make for some great images without the gif compression.
I actually have, I tend to post a few on the boards from time to time, only recently getting into stop motion.
nice siege mirage custom.
Another bumper finished!
How is it a chore to watch? (I've never seen it.)
Great work as always!
I especially like the shadows
Hmmm, well for starters of course there's none of the familiar Sunbow music or voices; you either have original Japanese audio with subtitles, or a really awful English dub. Neither makes things easy or enjoyable... But the story style itself also takes some getting used to. There's a lot of repetition and a lot of long-winded introductions etc. I found myself quite bored a lot of the time. It's not that the series are bad, per se, just that the experience for me bears little connection to G1 as I know it.
I've watched a ton of Godzilla movies in Japanese so that wouldn't bother me.
That is awesome!!! Love the custom head you made!
Omega Supreme. easily the hardest bumper I've done to date. I'm not looking forward to grimlock though with the decepticon rock that he smashes (mind you I don't have a suitable grimlock to make that happen yet, so I'm not stressing)
These are so awesome!!!! Great job with the bumpers!
