...is Scavenger's bottom wheel designed to be "flat" so he can stand up in bot mode? I'm genuinely excited to see how this guy transformers.

between the fact that he has treads, a scoop and a detachable piece, it's pretty obvious that scavenger is a retool of scrapmetal.

You really think they retooled a Deluxe into a Leader?

Scavenger is slightly mistransformed in robot mode but overall looks pretty good. It's a shame his fingers don't seem to be articulated so they can be lined up properly in vehicle mode.

Shockwave looks pretty spectacular. The paint on this guy is gorgeous!

Going by the bend in the treads, seems they retooled Hightower in there, too.

While his fingers may not articulate, looking at his hands there seems to be a joint to allow they to spread out at least, so he actually has fingers and not just shovel halves.

I never understood Scrapmetal's design. He transforms from something that's rather stable with treads, to a bicycle that's stuck popping-a-wheelie. Not a knock against the toys, as I can't imagine how much effort was made to get it to work, just the design overall.

It's bonkers for sure, but he was designed during a time when the filmmakers were getting really "creative" (a good or bad thing depending on what your preferences are) with the robot designs in ROTF. You had wheelbots, pogo stick bots, wheel feet bots, tiny bots, old bots, kitchen bots... they really ran the gamut in ROTF.

I personally thought it was a cool design.

    ...did you see the movie?

His alt mode is a slow moving hunk of metal. His bot mode is pretty damn agile.

I think it'd make more sense if he was like the micromaster combiners who make up part of a vehicle.

No, clearly I've never seen the movie and I was definitely not discussing the use of continuous tracks vs a unicycle design, rather than the vehicle itself.

Cool! I assume that the extra piece that comes with Scavenger is meant for Devastator or something? It just seems weird to have a loose panel as an accessory for any other reason.

It's a stock photo, so I'm guessing they just took what was in the box and put it out there. My guess is it's a spare lid that you have to attach somewhere to close up the excavator. Or maybe it purposefully detaches from the alt-mode to form a makeshift stand for the bot.

Eh, the older Scavenger looked better. Much nicer in the paint variations. Also, the alt mode was cleaner.

Shockwave almost looks too dark. I was expecting more silver and purple, though it does look like the purple is applied nicely.
Megatron's thigh pieces are pretty obvious here, which isn't bad, just noticable.
Overall, Shockwave will be the last Studio Series figure I buy. I just hope that, with how much stuff there is hanging off of him, he uses more pins and less friction points than what this line typically does.
