I asked him on Twitter. Sadly he confirmed that he won't work on the Bumblebee movie. In fact, this will be the first TF movie without Steve Jablonsky.

This really sucks. I love Steve's work in the previous movies just about more than any other film score. So to hear that he won't be taking on the Bumblebee movie, a far less action-oriented and smaller story, makes me wonder what he would've done for this film and how different it would be than the previous films.

As for a "replacement" composer, I'm in the Brian Tyler boat, that guy is incredibly talented. He made a Need For Speed game sound like a Fast and Furious movie. (Doesn't help that he also composes those movies as well.)

From his words it seems he thinks that the Movie will be released in the summer, but it's wrong. So there is possibility that he might do the soundtrack. It's to early to say now. I'm glad that he's still enthusiastic after TF5 problems with editing:(

Brian Tyler seems to be the first choice to pick. I don't disagree. He's not the worst, but he's no Jablonsky either.

as much as i love jablonsky (how could you not?) this is a smart move as it will help differentiate the bee movie even more from the bayverse films which i believe is one of the primary goals iirc

Why so many people here always want to change something? We have almost a year before the stage where soundtrack should be done, why suggest new composer? AND... OF COURSE! the one from INCREDIBLE AMAZING PERFECT SACRED MARVEL MOVIES, which is indisputable standart for hollywood movies. You have no logic, only stereotypes.

I'm okay with this. Love Jablonsky and hope he comes back for the next sequel, but a little change for the prequel would be nice.

I hope that he sticks for the main movies, but it seems like he will.
As for a composer for the Bumblebee spin-off: please don't sound generic.
The Transformers scores have always been epic and very present and I hope that this sticks for the spin-off(s).

I'm fine with it, helps the side-story nature of it stand out. A smaller movie doesn't need such a grand score.

I’m going to miss Jablonsky. His music is sublime.

Normally I wouldn’t make this suggestion, but since the movie does have an 80s vibe it actually would be really appropriate to bring in Vince DiCola to write the score.
