Most people on here wait till AFTER a blockbuster comes out before suggesting said blockbuster's director as a replacement, just FYI. :lol

Yeah, but after that. Wasn't he heavily involved in the Transformers writers room?

Would you still want him to direct if Pacific Rim 2 is a critical flop?

Yeah because what would be the difference :duel
The critics always pan bays transformers so if he carries on that tradition then so be it! I have always enjoyed the films regardless of other people's opinions!

I'm hoping for Justin Lin. I think if one guy other than Bay is tailor made for Transformers it's him.

I see where you're coming from but the reason Bay was sought after to direct the Transformers films was that he's one of a handful of directors who know how to direct live action stunts with CGI seamlessly. Spielberg was the one who specifically wanted him for the directing job which I think says a lot on how good Bay is with directing visual effects. DeKnight hasn't directed a film before or anything with this much CGI and it can go many ways. It could be well directed with great performances but the CGI might be criticized for being weak, etc. I hope Pacific Rim 2 is a success but it's way too early to assume DeKnight has the skills to direct Transformers. I also think its important to note that despite everyone wanting the movies to have better stories, better written and directed characters at the end of the day what sells these films is the quality of the action scenes and CGI.

I also want Justin Lin to do the next Transformers.

Makes sense honestly, he did Star Trek Beyond for Paramount so doing another one of their franchises isn't too much a stretch.
