also of note is this site: The Humble Indie Bundle 7 (pay what you want and help charity)
they ran a thq deal last month and now back do doing indie games. way it works is you donate anything above $1 and you get all the base pack games through steam codes. donating over the average donation gets you the locked games (average is about $6.40 atm).
really an awesome way to get some cool games at next to nothing and be donating to charities at the same time.
You can count me in to purchasing that!
Edit: I donated $7.... If anyone wants "Dungeon Defenders + All DLC" for steam hit me up as I already have the game and I don't mind giving it away.
First day = nothing I want on sale so far, might grab gifts though.
Also, as I do every Steam Sale thread.
Reminder to wait for daily/flash sales before buying anythnig.

So there's no features this year besides obscene savings and the community vote (which ties into their "holiday badges")?
I don't like how so many of the achievements for the holiday badge this time around involve linking personal information to your steam profile.
Am I not seeing the right list then?
I see two tied to the Voting, one for buying something, one for using Steam Mobile, one for buying a gift, and what I assume is have ten items on your Wishlist.
I don't see anything about linking facebook accounts or anything like that.
Ah, I thought the "pillar of community" one was holiday-related.
Just grabbed Dishonored.
50% off bringing down to freaking 24.99euro
The only thing I need now (yea right, keep dreaming) is a good deal on Dark Souls..
I continue to be safe, behind my wall of backlog.
Is that cheating?
I bought Borderlands 2 yesterday to play with friends. I am thinking of getting Dishonored today... Damn Steam, its day 2, and I am already on the fast-track to over-budget.
I felt the need for it, because I'm stupid, so I bought both Sonic Adventure games. I think we all know how much they degraded over time, but at less than $10, I couldn't give it more than a passing thought.
Broke down and bought both Torchlights.
Less than 15 bucks for both? Hell, just take my money...
I will keep dreaming with you! xD
CURSE YOU STEAM! I just played the Xbox demo for Xcom and got hooked. I have it on my amazon christmas list. So I check to see how much it is on Steam just to torment myself. It's completely possible someone got the game for me and I'll gett it tuesday, I say to myself.
Then Steam comes along and says, "Heeeey buddy. I've got Xcom for you for $30 but you better hurry because in 7 hours it will go back to retail."
Fuck. I jump on Amazon and as carefully as I can, find out if anyone has gotten it for me. Not that I can see. "Wait until after Christmas, it will be on sale again Brian. Plus remember the couple thousand you want to save and put intothe bank?" I futility try to convince myself. Meanwhile I add it to my cart and hey one of the dlc is also on sale for a paltry $3... Oh, I could just add both for $10... NO! I'll only get the game and $3 dlc!
Me now: "Curse you Steam! I didn't want to spend money!" As I eagerly await it downloading... an hour and a half. Why must I wait?!
I just got Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Rainbow Six Collection, Psychonauts.
Now I wait for other deals.
My list increase of stuff I have got.
*Natural Selection II
*Red Orchestra 2
*Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
*Oblivion Game of the Year
Oblivion is an amazing game. I actually prefer it to Skyrim, setting wise at least. Gameplay goes to Skyrim, but I'm not a huge Norse fan so that setting doesn't entice me as much.
I saw the Sims 3 up on there yesterday, but I decided to wait on it.
My final purchase -
*Oddworld Abes Exoddus
*Oddworld Abes Oddysee
*Serious Sam 2
*Orcs Must Die 2 - Complete Pack
*Serious Sam 3 BFE Deluxe
I gifted a freind Boarderlands 2 and in return I got Orcs must die complete pack and hotline Miami
