I thought this would be a fun idea. I purchaced a figure today that everyone should avoid and I'm sure others have as well so they can add theirs and comment on others.

But today I got the Spiderman movie re-releases of the Black Spiderman swarming over the red and blue costume. It looked like a nice figure and was different from what has been around. Well I open it up and it sucks so bad!

The figure from what I can tell, seems to be an amalgam of different spiderman figures pieced together. The chest is from the Origins figure with the flipping base. You know, where his neck is bent down so he can't see straight. The head and left arm are definately from the black version and I think the left leg is. The right arm and leg are from the red and blue version. The legs are also to big for the ball-joints they attach to at the crotch. I have no idea what the crotch is from but it's none of the figures. Not only do the legs not line up, but the chest does not line up with the waist piece.

Terrible figure. Avoid at all costs. I definately want my $10 back. Good thing I spent enough and used that Target coupon so it only feels like I wasted $5

dude, why don't you just return it? I've done that with quite a few figures, they don't give you any hassle at all.

If you want a good spiderman movie figure get the medicom one, but considering your complaining over ten bucks it's out of your price range

Bit of a harsh assumption to make there.

Haven't heard of or seen this figure before, but it sounds positively terrible. As if Spider-Man needs more terrible merchandise to warm the shelves!

You should have spent that money to pick up an extra Lord Zedd. ;)

I collect Marvel Legends, not medicom. I wanted this figure to add to the collection because it's basically a legend figure under a different banner. I also have the regular versions of Spidey from 1, 2, and the black one from 3. This would have been a nice compliment to that.

Yea, I'm complainning about $10 I spent on a toy that really isn't worth it due to the quality. yea, that automatically means I can't afford the other one. Nice assumption there.

$10 aint much, but it sucks when your not trying to buy stuff on impulse to save a bit, and the one thing you get ends up being crap. Returning it will cost another $5 in gas.

Just super glue it into a pose and call it a statue :lol

Eh, it's not the cost that bugs me and I really don't intend on playing with it. I'm keeping it because I'm not returning a crappy figure because I don't like it. Buying it was a shot and I took a hit, no big deal.

Well they had to do something with all the Spiderman toys that are STILL clogging shelves in some places.

Yeah, but this is one of the 6" ones, not 5". The 5" ones are the pegwarmers. The 6" ones they put out over the holidays (the Build-a-Figure set) was an instant hit...but they didn't put out many (same for the Fantastic Four 6" BAF set) so a lot of people (as far as I know) got screwed. I'm glad they're putting out this new 6" Spidey line (I picked up Venom today) and I'm not really that upset about the Sandman BAF. I'm still pissed about the Fantastic Four BAF, though - I only managed to get Reed, Ben, and Johnny. And it's been said before in the Marvel Legends thread, and it's true: they still haven't put out a good black-costume Spidey figure. I don't want one where he's got a damned hole in his hand.

I think this is the figure in question.

Also, the same site has new pictures of wave two of the Spidey 6" series. There's a new black Spidey, but I think it's just an upsized version of the 5" movie figure - one hand in the web gesture and the other in an open fist. And there's a new Sandman that has hand attachments (unlike the BAF version, which didn't have any - dammit).

...why did I never hear about this new line? I knew about the movie line of course (people will still see some in 2009, watch), the BAF series that I never saw in person, but not a 6" line pretty much redoing all the 5" stuff. And a fricking Shocker!

That 6 inch Shocker figure looks pretty cool. I might have to get him.

I apologize that may have come out in a way I hadn't intended. Going back I looked at it and after re reading it, I'm thinking " Crap...I posted that, what was I thinking?"

Oh, dude, that looks like a repaint of the first movie black suit I got. I could've told you how much dong it sucked. The BAF one is worse, as his right hand is permanently angled back for a ******ed web-shooting accessory.

The super-articulated Spideys from 1 & 2 are some of my favorite figures (especially 2, with the magnets in his hands & feet), and I was really looking forward to the SM3 one, and was given not one, but two steaming piles of dog feces. :banghead:

EDIT: Looking at it again, it looks like a repaint of the BAF Spidey...either way: Absolute crap.
