Is it just me or is the release timeframe of 2010 Unicron creeping up and we haven't seen a picture of the actual toy?

Although I didn't realise til yesterday how soon it is to his release now!

He looks bloody awesome. So glad I got mine on pre-order with Primus.

Although originally wasn't he slated for release around December but now it looks like we might get him later this month?

What would lead you to assume that?

Hasbro has a hard enough time selling higher price-point figures. $100 Devs, $60 Skywarps, the last time Unicron was out for $50. They sat in stores until they had to be clearanced.

If Hasbro decides to bring this new-headed planet-eater over, you already know they're going to cheap out on the toy: less paint apps and such. Just to bring the price down (and I still think they'd ask $80 for it).

If you want the toy, don't bother waiting for Hasbro. You'll just end up wishing you'd gotten the TakTomy release.

If Hasbro had sold him in the same G1 color scheme without lots of excessive paint apps and chrome, I would've picked him up. There would be one less clearanced ;)

They re-released Armada Unicron back in 2008 as a TRU Excsluive, That didn't sell that well....Why would they even bother.

I don't, at least not for a long time. Like others pointed out they had the Armada re-release 2 years ago and that didn't sell well and it was a TRU Exclusive. Which is probably the only store that will carry something that requires that much shelf space (notice I did not say the price). It could happen but I'm really doubting it at this point.

Nope he was always due out in September. Maybe you're thinking of the last of the 2010 figures (like Predaking and Rodimus)? They're due out at the end of the year / early next year.

I could never afford the $50 TRU Unicron when he was out, then when everyone on here said that they were on clearance, my stores were either still charging full price or didn't have any left. :(

Is there an actual release date or is it just "late September"?

Nice, I can't wait to get mine, so glad they got rid of that transparent chest and gave him an '86 movie accurate head.

I have to admit, the 2008 version never made it to clearance at my 3 local TRU stores

I actually hope it's delayed because of my August spending spree. Besides, it would be kinda sweet to receive Unicron and Primus together :D

There is probably a set date they will be mailed out, that Toy Hobby Market will inform the people that ordered him directly from them with. But that date is still probably not known and may not ever be known by the English speaking TF community. So Late September is probably all we'll know. Gentei Dirge & Thrust had specific shipping dates but those were unknown until the started shipping or right before.

I highly doubt this, Primus, Predaking or any of the Takara 2010 stuff would see a Hasbro release, with the exception of MP Hot Rod/Rodimus. It'd be nice if they did it, but I wouldn't anticipate it.
