Yep, I knew it was hot but seeing the statistics made me realize how bad our state is. Feel real bad for the farmers. :(

As an Australian, I greatly sympathise. We've had some bad drought stretches in the past decade. Stay hydrated and stay cool.

Thanks. We're going through a good rain storm right now which is good. Bad thing is, the ground is so dry there was some flooding.

...That's the thing that most people aren't taking into consideration. No one is thinking about the long term implications this drought is going to have on Food and Water at Grocery Stores...

Nah we're pretty welll aware of it; nothing so bad that its produced a shortage per say, but when Queensland had a bad natural disaster (a cyclone from memory), banana prices increased nearly ten fold. The flow on effects can be bloody devestating though.

We are getting too much thunder showers in the FL panhandle. I would be glad to send some of it up to Missouri.

Thanks, Noizemaze! Yeah, right now I HATE getting rain. We just get enough to make the air humid as all get out since the ground is too dry to soak any of the moisture in. Heck, there are reports of building's foundations giving in because of the ground being too dry.

And I had to move with no help but my sister's in this heat and humidity the last four days. To say I am spent is understatement right now. :lol

As a man who has lived in Florida for all his life, I strongly suggest you have AC on and break out a Cold one.

25 deaths really? Is Missouri one of those hot states?

    Sorry to hear that.

Try to stay hydrated and try to do all your errands in the morning or at night when the weather is cooler.

I lived in FL and now living TX that's what we do here.

Sounds brutal, like what TX was dealing with last year with almost 80 days straight of 100-degree temperatures. Keeping my house (which doesn't have central A/C - augh!) somewhat cool was an uphill battle. And like you, what little rain we got was just enough to spike the humidity and piss us all off even more.

Hang in, there try and stay cool and drink water. As Ned Stark once said, Winter is coming (thank God!)

Damn. Stay hydrated and stay cool. It's been a bit hot here in Ohio as well, but after a recent storm, the weather should be cooling.

I sympathize with Missouri. The DC metro (at least in Northern Virginia) could use a few good soakers. This is probably the worst heat wave in the 13 years I've lived here.
